My America and My World - Abeka 1st Grade 1 History and Geography Student Textbook

This book presents a very ethnocentric, white-washed view of history. I found that it has been helpful with giving me a curriculum structure, which I needed. I then supplement the lessons with whatever is missing. For example, we began by learning about the Native Americans, especially those nations residing where we live. My kid will learn about the horrific details when she is older, but I think that it is irresponsible not to mention the original residents of this land. Aside from that, I wish the book also had activities. I supplement those with worksheets from other vendors. For example, we were able to stretch out the portion on our freedoms with several interactive activities and videos. So I follow the order, but sometimes the verbiage in the book is too hyperbolic.
