Rorschach Test + Adult Light Legos + A Puzzle
Great product, so great. As part of shenanigans at work I started with 3 blocks, and then kept adding. Soon I became the most popular person in the office. These blocks are really cool, they say you can only attach 19 in consecutive order, but I have gotten up to 50 on one USB power source. You can position them in infinitely many ways. I say they are a puzzle because each block has one power input and 5 additional connectors. You will have to play with them to get them to do what you want. I have read some of the other reviews and don't think they are fair.... too much packaging>? Seriously? I'll take it and get them without scratches. The app leaves a little to be desired, and many of the color functions can be changed by touching the base. No real complaints here. They are fun and by far the cheapest smart light out there for what you get. Very much recommend.

Cheap Alternative to Nanoleaf
I have about $700 invested in Nanoleaf and this was the best/cheapest alternative I've found.Compared to Nanoleaf, the app is pretty bad. But it does the job and there's a lot of customization available.I think the lights themselves are pretty good and have a wide range of effects. The lights are very bright when used at 100%. I'll probably never use mine over 25%. It works with Alexa but the alexa skill and the native app are named differently and I never saw it documented anywhere. The Alexa skill is called lifesmart....saved you a google click.I got the lamp with 10 modules and I probably wouldn't get any set that was smaller. In reading the last few comments before I purchased 2 of these, there was a comment about the packaging being excessive. Then the next guy was like, 'really, buddy?!'. I kinda felt the same way until it got here. Let's just say I spent more time unpackaging and cleaning up than I did setting up the lamp. All the boxes are folded origami style so you can flatten them all or a relatively small size, but you're talking at least 20 individual boxes and dividers for ONE lamp. No fear of these lights being damaged in transit whatsoever, but it was a bit of overkill.I like the lights and I think they're a great value. The item is as described. The touch sensor is about useless, (you have to fumble around behind the lamp to find it with blinding LEDs in your eye but this is not a feature I care about). The app isn't the best UI/UX but I'm not here for the app. Once I get the presets the way I want, I'll probably always use Alexa exclusively to control this device.

Slightly difficult for first 10 minutes and then easy
The media could not be loaded. Takes a little bit of time to get used to. Note: you must have a 5v - 2a USB adapter or the lights will flicker due to low power.Mine were flickering and not lighting up properly until I plugged it into the proper adapter. After that it was smooth sailing. The app that controls the lights will need to update their firmware as well before you are able to enjoy them at their best.I've spent the better part of 3 hours messing with all the different lighting settings and have settled on a custom design that I really like. The lights are extremely easy to create custom designs with. Although this page says that it only supports up to 10 lights on one design there are preloaded designs that require more than 10 also their web page hints at being able to support significantly more. When making your own designs make sure you set the distance from the furthest light to the hub. If you don't it may not light up all of your lights.

A Garbage App & Too Much Packaging! (updated)
I ordered the 10 piece kit and I was shocked to find that when I opened the box, inside were 10 more boxes... no scratch that there were 20 boxes. The kit is sold as a set, but really they're sending you individually sold light blocks. Each one comes in a brown cardboard box, and inside that is a sleek and colorful retail package. That means for every piece you get, you get two boxes. Why this isn't just sold as one large set is baffling to me. It's a lot of waste and a pain to clean up.There were also missing connector parts, I had some left over, but each box comes with two, a short one and a long one. The short ones are to add support I think and the longer ones are to send signal. If you don't use a longer connector you won't get them to light up.I couldn't get the app to connect to the device or my wifi. I'm using a preset now which I find relaxing and matches my office aesthetic. I question if the app really does anything or is finished. It's poorly translated from Chinese to English which carries over to the instructions as well. There's some confusing ideas in the set up guide. These are cheap, maybe one day they'll work as intended, but for now, I'm enjoying them. I ordered a second set for review and may alter this just in case it's my base unit or something that's out of wack. Will update if that's the case.BUT TOO MUCH PACKAGING! it's nonsense how many boxes they use.I ordered a second set thinking maybe it was my connector that was the issue. It's not. The real issue is that the device needs to connect to a 2.4ghz wifi signal. If you have a 5.0 or paired signal it won't know what to do and won't connect to the app. I manually set my router to have different names with the 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz and found that my router had a lot of problems and it also meant I'd have to be switching which wifi signal i was using just for the lights. The app itself is very poorly designed. You have to show the app how everything is connected manually. You design the pattern then you have to show which tabs you're using in which direction, which can be very hard to remember if you're like me and kind of designed the pattern as you attached them to the wall. From there the app lets you customize each tile and how the colors are on them. It's an incredibly tedious task, not fun at all, which is one of the factors for just going with the presets. I didn't get the music feature to work at all which was a bummer. the tech that runs the blocks seems to be mostly in the wired connector that attaches to and powers the blocks. Hopefully in the future they'll release a better connector/power source that has a microphone built in for music settings, more presets and connects to 5.0ghz wifi signals.

Best option for affordable modular lighting
So as some have indicated, these are a bit of a hassle for the first 10-15 minutes or so, but once you’ve got them in place, they’re pretty cool. To clarify, I wrestled getting them set up, as they’re a bit wobbly and cumbersome depending on how many pieces you’re working with and what shape you’re constructing. A couple of times I accidentally nudged them and had to quickly grab them to keep them from toppling into the floor, which jostled the connections and resulted in half of the lights going out. I had to take them all off the base, re-seat the connections, get them back on the base, and then go back into the app because after powering down, they “forget” what colors/effects they were configured with. As far as WiFi goes, I did not experience the same trouble others did. I followed the supplied directions, installed the app, and had remote control in about 5 minutes. Obligatory “your mileage may very” disclaimer, but the end result is quite nice. A modicum of patience is required to achieve the desired result. Quality is good, price is a bit steep, but it’s preferable to spending more money on other units or time on taking a DIY route. If you’ve been looking for a more affordable option, this is your best bet.EDIT: After less than a week, I could no longer control this thing. The app couldn’t see it, and when going through the steps to add it back, it was unreachable on the network. I tried two routers and after many power cycles and retrying, I regained control. I work in IT, this shouldn’t be such a pain in the ass. Side note to amateur radio operators: this device generates a fair amount of EMI. I’ve noticed it interfering with reception on my 800mHz P25 scanner, as well as on HF on various freqs. The standard ferrite chokes should help.
