Daily Thoughts for a Year - Development for Business & for Life
This book consists of a bunch of good journal exercises for stepping away from the small stuff, and thinking in a general way about developing a business and teamwork. And much of what is here is not specific to businesses, so it might be good reading for anyone interested in improving their life purpose and dealings with the people around them. However, it is often vague, so the degree of helpfulness of this book will depend on the specificity and drive with which the reader participates in what they are reading. It certainly could be read, in a thoughtful way, in a much smaller space of time. There are lots of good thoughts in here, but when I read them I cannot help smiling because it reminds me (in a good way) of Stuart Smalley on SNL. "I know what I want and I will not stop until I get it. Today I will be relentless", "There is no time to fear failure. I will abandon any thoughts of failure and I will find success without a doubt", "I know what my strengths are and I am going to use them to keep my company culture alive". And so forth. Each thought is followed by a half-page (approx) expansion and explanation. Some are specific to company development. For example, following the strength quote above, the author talks about micromanaging and identifying problems and solutions, and then has the reader specifically identify three people who they trust in their company, for subsequent delegation of identified problems. And some solutions are helpful to people getting mired in nuts and bolts, such as stepping back and identifying potential customers who might have a good emotional connection with your company, and subsequently connecting with them. However many activities are vague. For example,, in the week focusing on personality types (introvert & extrovert), "Think about ways that you can learn to utilize the extroverts on your team. Does this change any of the original goals that you set for your team? Write down the answer." No specific strategies or suggestions.

This is an excellent book to make small daily changes that eventually result in a solid and relevant transformation!
What makes this book different is that Rhett Power has grounded the valuable suggestions of his book in the inner work, and I totally agree, since it is our being from where we operate and we obtain certain results as entrepreneurs. Making small daily reflections that allow us to make very specific changes is that we become aware of what we do and then focus on a new way of acting, resulting in the construction of a more promising present and future. The book encompasses a wide range of situations to improve yourself and your business, and that is wonderful because due to our personality we are able to see only some aspects but we are blind to others, and these exercises allow us to approach the problems in an integral way. The whole process of personal evolution is designed to accompany you during each day of a year to have more clarity of your entrepreneurial activity, your purpose, personal success mindset, motivated employees and loyal customers. My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

The Entrpreneur's Book of Actions
While targeted towards business owners, "The Entrepreneur's Book of Actions" by Rhett Power is a good title for anyone wanting to better manage their business and life. The book is around 280 pages and addresses such topics as:1. Multi-tasking is overrated (to that I say "AMEN"!).2. Motivating yourself mentally.3. Dealing with work stress and overload.4. Taking time to be alone so you can better serve others.5. Managing your employees.6. Habits and attitudes to have and avoid.7. Minimizing drama in the workplace. The book consists of 53 chapters centering around a particular theme (some of which are listed above) and each chapter consists of 7 daily readings for the topic. The book may be read as you like - in a few sittings or a much longer time. Good read full of practical information.

Easy to follow plan for positive behavior changes
Well, having received this book two months ago, this reviewer is not markedly richer, smarter, or more successful. Plus, being smart is not as good as being determined. And those who follow the disciplines laid out in this book (for 52 weeks) might be successful with that determination. (this reviewer hasn't always followed the directions.) Overall, it seems like a good approach, perhaps not the newest ideas, but laid out in a way that a motivated person could follow them. It's worth a read through first, then starting the plan. It's an easy read and breaks the implementation of new behaviors into manageable chunks. Worth the read and the effort to make some changes.
