I am more comfortable with a UL-listed product when considering any electronic purchase. This product is UL-listed under category control number ”ZJCZ,” wire, flexible cord-type. I was able to corroborate the listing on UL’s product iQ website. The product manufacturer listed there is Ningbo Jiangfeng Plastic & Chemistry Co., Ltd. The cord conductors are stranded 14AWG copper and tinned at the end with solder. I use this cord to supply class 1 power (120VAC/60Hz) to a 24VDC power supply which operates a motorized sit-stand desk and USB charging ports. So far, the cord is performing as intended. There is no discernible smell that I am able to detect from the synthetic cord jacketing. The jacket is appropriately marked with it’s applicable UL listing and even conforms to vertical flame test standards, which includes investigation of leakage current between circuit conductors and ground; and, the jacket. The jacket feels distinctly more rigid than similar cords I’ve purchased at big box hardware stores in the past. However considering that this cord is intended for appliances (static) and not power tools (non-static/flexible range of motion), I’m of the opinion that the increased rigidity improves its resilience against accidental damage. However, there is nothing to indicate that this cord is waterproof. So, keep it clean and dry. The male (plug) end of the cord fits securely into my new wall receptacle. In the picture I took of this mating, there is a ferrite choke installed which is not included with this product. I use chokes as a small and inexpensive defense against unwanted harmonics on my class 1 electrical power. This cord will deliver power just fine without it. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase, considering that local retail options at neighborhood stores are more expensive and use a smaller (16AWG) conductor size for the same application.
