Maypole MP790 Heavy Duty Foot Pump

Foot pumps used to be readily available and, as I recall, ones of good quality were available without too much of a search. Times have changed and I struggled to find anything half decent and this pump is a replacement for a more expensive item that quickly failed.I have had this pump for about three months and used it several times (one car had a slow puncture and another needed more air in its tyres for motorway/heavy load use). The pump worked well enough for its type (always slow but steady progress), the tube to the tyres is long, the connector worked well, and the rubber feet were OK. On the down side UK tyre pressures are measured in 'bars' now but this scale was small and inside the psi scale (better for USA customers), and the pump seems fit for ordinary rather than heavy duty use.Overall I am happy enough with my purchase.

delivered perfectly but from their it's all down hill. The gauge glass has come of an the valve connector has come of the pipe. Steer clear.

On the plus side the foot plate it good, the catch is metal not plastic and it has a decent valve connector (not a screw on type).Downside is after a few months one of the cylinder seals burst and it's now useless.

Bought this as a replacement for one off eBay that lasted three months, itself a replacement for a Halfords one that lasted 20 years (not sure I'd get that quality again).This one seems ok but the plastic bevel that surrounds he gauge fell off straight away. Can glue it on but only time will tell orbit lasts...

Broke after only a few months so was replaced yesterday. I'm not sure about it being 'heavy duty' but it make heavy weather of the job. Some lubrication on the shafts (which could have been done at the factory) made it easier to use but it takes a lot of effort to get the tyres to the correct pressure.
