Good quality
High quality and pre-lubed. You might want to invest in the right cutter for clean ends; a cutoff wheel didn't do the best job on the kevlar layer.

Good Upgrade for Brake Cables
This housing works when replacing or upgrading braking system componennts. Since it’s compressionless care must be taken to trim properly. It should make shifting faster and more precise.

Drop bar disc brakes
This replacement housing was recommended to me when I was considering brake upgrades for my new Poseidon Redwood. On my old gravel bike I have Tektro Hy/RD cable-actuated hydraulic brakes, and I found those brakes to be more than adequate for road, trail, and gravel. Those are at least $150 though, and this bike takes flat-mount brakes, the no-name copies I found are all post mount.I was very hesitant, especially since this costs so much and comes with more than one bike's worth of housing, but went with the crowd wisdom, and boy were they right! I've gone from pulling the lever to the bar with inadequate engagement, to full engagement in only a quarter of the distance. For drop bar disc brake bikes, you have to unwrap the bars to remove the old housing. On the rear brake, I frayed the cable and had to order a new cable. I should have gotten the new $8 Jagwire brake cables anyway as they were noticeably slicker. I also damaged my bar tape, I'll replace it soon with new tape and some gel pads to go underneath, but I can mend it with electrical tape for now.Getting the cable inside of the housing was a bit of an issue for me, another reason to get new cables to go with the housing as the ends won't be frayed. I reamed out the housing with a paper clip and twisted the old brake cables in with 50% success. One brake cable frayed and while I got it in the housing, it unwound and created a lot of friction and required replacement. This comes with end caps and mid caps, not sure the proper term for them.I cut the housing with a dremel style thin cut-off wheel. You can use cable cutters or a hacksaw or probably other things I haven't thought of.Overall this product improved the brakes' functionality by like 400% and I'm very pleased to have found it. I considered upgrading my other gravel bike, but it occurs to me that the cable housing for that bike might be fine. It might just be this bike with the cheap housing. If you have a bike with disc brakes and you're sure the feel at the lever should be less spongey, this might be right for you. It sure helped me out.

Firmed up my brakes.
Compared to the stock compressable brake housing, this transformed my mushy brakes into firm responsive brakes. Highly recommended!

Improves braking power over standard housing
It’s pricy, it’s stiffer than regular spiral brake housing, which can make routing more difficult, but in my case it was entirely worth it. After bedding in, my new gravel bike’s stock mechanical disc brakes were far worse than the old school rim brakes on my 20 something year old road bike. It felt unsafe to ride in my hilly area, but I didn’t have the money to invest in new hydraulic disc brakes. I tried this brake housing as an alternative and was impressed by the improvement in stopping power. I’d never confuse them for hydraulic disc brakes, but at least now I can tuck most of the way into hairpins on the road, and ride some light to moderate single track on my gravel bike without worrying if my brakes will actually slow me down.

Good quality.
A little expensive but it works better than any other one I have use in the past.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!
Never thought changing the stock brake housing would make so much of a difference. After buying a Poseidon Redwood gravel bike and having issues with breaking system, decided to give this Jagwire a try. It is a bit on the expensive side but it's very worth it. The breaking power is now superb. I've only done one bike so far and im sure i should have enough left over housing to do at least two more bikes.
