I have a home radio with Okay reception. I added this to it and we get a lot more stations now. Living in a valley it is always a struggle and this antenna can pull better than my truck and cars do, opening up a lot of stations. My only con is this- It does not stay where you put it without support. It is too "lose" so it will drop down if it is at an angle. This is a pretty large flaw as I have to rest it against a lamp to keep it in the direction I want. Not the end of the world, but if I didn't have something to rest it on, it would be basically useless to me.

Added antenna to each of my three Sangean desktop radios, really pulls in the FM stations. Comes with plastic install tool which I leave on the antenna all the time(prevents loss). Takes a few seconds to install and allows antenna to be positioned at any angle without loosening nut.

I got what I expected...mediocre reception. I need to point out I live 45 minutes from Atlanta. I also live in a steep valley which is bad for all indoor antennas. I have a high end Yamaha AV receiver with HD radio capability. I used 75 ohm dipole wire taped to my wall before buying this antenna. I previously got several HD stations but with this antenna I could not get a signal strong enough for most HD broadcasts even though stereo came in strong. Stations intermittently would switch from stereo to HD continually due to weak signal strength. The ugly wire on the wall drove me nuts so I tried this alternative. FM waves on average require antennas 36 inches. Any shortcoming will certainly affect a HD signal even if it sounds great since HD signals carry multiple broadcasts on the same frequency on switchable HD1 -5 modes in many cases. How could this little telescoping antenna handle this!!! Thin wire performs much better than this antenna for HD but getting the right wire placement is always painstaking. This antenna is 8 inches short for optimum HD in poor locations. Despite having12 sections, each section is only about 2” each. Four more sections would have made the difference bringing the total length closer to 36”. To be fair, knowing my bad reception due to my low elevation, this antenna actually performed above average. Think about your elevation and opt for an extension at least 36”. HD radios require strong signals, especially in difficult locations and this antenna does not do the job well in this case.

It works and I like the fact you can leave the tool on it once you install it so it won't get lost in a drawer somewhere..value for the money..I don't know..it seems pretty simple..sturdiness..yeah but really it doesn't get that much physical hammering unless you've got a small child fascinated with pulling and pushing it all the time..all in all I have a external antenna single line with a male push on the unit in my room, works beautiful by my window..this things for the one in the kitchen..3 stars

I recently bought a Tivoli One from amazon expecting great sound. Unfortunately the radio tuner was horrible. All I can hear was fuzzy sound when I was tuning the radio. Adding the wire antennae that can with the unit did not help so I went back online to find a antenna add on and found this GEM. I screwed in the antenna and all the station was almost pitch perfect. Trust me, I dont like to write reviews cuz i’m lazy but this thing worked and save my tivoli from a return. Just get this antenna if your radio signal is weak or if you are having problem tuning in your favorite radio channel.

I wasn’t sure this would be effective but it actually does help reception on the FM band. Got rid of the pesky static and can be moved around for fine adjustment. Good buy.

Reception is good and sound is clear when fixed to my Cambridge Audio One CD/Audio.

Works great, picks up weak signals on my Sangean WR 16SE.

Brings in stations crisp and clear.
