About half of them popped and broke while soaking in water for 2 minutes which is disappointing. One popped after I put it in a plant.

Honestly, I had modest expectations for these, and expectations were met. I bought them to save me from sticking my finger in the dirt of every pot of my house everyday and they basically do that.If they're slightly dark then the plant is fine. Once they're fully dried out (reasonably evident), it means I need to start checking the plant more regularly, but it doesn't mean that it's fully dry. They allow me to eyeball a plant and know when there definitely is enough water, but are not precise enough to know when there's definitely not enough water.Some of them cracked when I left them to soak for more than a minute. Soaking just 30 seconds is probably fine and even not soaking at all worked fine in a couple test plants.They get a little grungy soaking up fertilizer salts, but I'm pretty sure I can just wash that off.

I use these religiously. I don't have to worry about too much water even my kids can grow their own plants. I have even used these in my gardening.!!

Some have one eye and black scuffs (which I thought was cute). 2 were broken but otherwise a wonderful and cute product!

I'm not impressed with these worms. They seem to stay dry after watering. Don't recommend
