Red Sea 15863 Hood Fan for Max 130/130D

I have a Red Sea Max 130 and while I can order from other sites - who doesn’t appreciate the 2-day shipping :) Anyways this fan works GREAT! Perfect fit and pulls air through like my aquarium needed as the old fan failed.

After a while, it will make too much noise.

More airflow on water surface is great for gas exchange and helps keep the temp down a bit from the lights. Also helps keep the light lens clean and dry.Bad, makes water evaporate much quicker. Need to keep up on top offs much more often... Like every other day or so!!!

Be sure to get *this* replacement fan, and none other. Firstly, some of the other Red Sea Max replacement fans come with little 12V adapters on them; these will not work with the 130/130D which has the wires running directly into a terminal. Second, these fans have a very specific shape and size which makes them a snug fit in the hood of the unit - without this you'd need glue or screws to mount the fans. These fans are *much* quieter than the worn out fans I had, but they do make enough noise to be heard from several feet away. Not too annoying, though. These fans produce very effective air flow and will help extend the life of your electronics hood and bulbs!

Absolutely do not buy these. My old ones were failing (loud noise for about 30 seconds when turned on but quieted down after that). These a SO loud. Awful. Not sure what they changed but these are terrible. Do yourself a favor and buy some of the quiet fans you can find posts about them online.
