Okay so I have had some pieces explode off of the bottom, I had used it once was fine used it again and heard some popping in the forge then saw some graphite falling out the bottom so removed it and it was missing a chunk from the bottom. Perhaps I abused it not sure, it is still use able plenty of material remaining. Does this sound as it got wet or are my temps perhaps too hot? The graphite was glowing between orange and yellow. Could always use the pieces to attempt to make N2C4 :)

I got it. Then baked it in my oven for a couple hours. Then fired it in my foundry. Let it cool down slowly. Its just graphite coated fire clay. I wouldn't buy another. Id spend the extra money to get a good one from a legitimate website. Im loosing fath in Amazon and the people who sell through it. There are companies that you can hire to give fake reviews so scammers can can be top on the list. If you buy off of Amazon scroll down a page or 2 till you see legitimate reviews that arnt all 5 stars. Thats your best bet

This one was so big I just barely could get it in the furnace. So I ordered a smaller one also. I hope to melt copper and brass in this one once I build a furnace with a larger cavity and the tools to handle it. For now I am working on the smaller on which I will use for aluminum casting. Looks to be of the highest quality.

Was a bit larger than I thought but works great! Only thing I wish it has was a cut out to pour easier.

This crucible is just the right size for my homemade furnace. Cans fit easily, but it has capacity for some larger things and holds heat well. Mine has been through several melts with no issues.

It works as it was described. I used it to melt aluminum. It worked perfectly.

This is an 8k crucible not a 6k. Please fix the description. I needed a spare 8k anyway so I’ll keep this one.

Have done a few meltings in this crucible - used borax to season it - not sure that was a good thing, But the crucible is working great as designed. Pour spout could use some work - but it it is fine.

Does not fit into 6kg crucible holders. Do not buy together. Doesn't show procast label on the crucible like it shows in the picture.
