The unit is exactly what it was designed to be...a cheap tooth polisher. But beware, with a simplecircuit and a thumb clip as a rudamentary swith, the metal handle completes the circuit and gives your hand a nice warm zap. The handle got warm and my hand was zapped while the motor was turned on. I wrapped the metal handle with electrical tape to prevent the shocking experience, but the metal handle still got hot.The motor turns as you would expect and as long as you apply light pressure, the unit works. However, apply medium pressure and the motor bogs down. Be prepared to clean the mirror as the tooth polishing compound will be flung everywhere. Just as at the dentist, you will need to floss and rinse afterward, that is if you can handle the shocking experience or wrap it with electrical tape.In retrospect, I should have just spent the money for a better quality tooth polisher, but to each his/her own.

When I first used this, the tip would stop spinning as soon as it touched my tooth. I could not polish at all. It's not that the motor is too weak or that the parts are too flimsy, it's that the motor shaft was slipping as it turned inside the tip holder.I removed the holder and placed a tiny bit of the polishing paste inside it. I then pressed the holder back onto the motor shaft. This totally solved the problem. The motor has plenty of torque and does not stall. I was quite impressed at how easily stains were removed.I'd give the device five stars except that not everyone will figure out how to fix the slipping problem and would have an essentially nonfunctional item. Also, the head of the unit is way to big to allow polishing the back teeth unless one has a very big mouth (literally).

I just got this and gave it a try. The first couple of attempts, the motor quit spinning as the others mentioned. Here is what i found to be the problem on mine. When pressure is applied, the collar that holds the polishing cup rubbed against the body of the motor housing, causing it to lock up. I took a flat fine file, and polished off some of the material on the motor housing where the shaft comes out. This gave the collar a little clearance. After i did that, it worked fine, and the motor didn't stall at all. It did a decent job after that.

Polisher itself works fine but I think the polish cream should be stronger I have been using it for a week I don’t see much difference

It's not top of the line, the silicon cups give out pretty easy on dental appliances such as flippers. But for the price and the paste, it's the brightest my smile can get without a dental visit.

I bought this item and was very excited to receive it and try it out. It was easy to assemble and came with batteries and cups. Unfortunately as soon as I turned it on, the polisher became hot. Within 30 seconds it was too hot to hold. It seemed to keep heating up even after I turned it off. I had to use a cloth to hold it and remove the batteries. I was afraid they were going to explode. This product is potentially dangerous.On top of the safety issues, the cups do not hold the polish correctly and it flings out all over every thing. If I hadn't discarded the packaging, I would return it.

Good for keeping that shine and helps keep healthy teeth I’ve used these things since I was a teen I have NEVER had to get my teeth cleaned , all my dentist thought the years tell me you don’t need it there is no build up! I see my dentist 2-3 times a year to check for cavities. These things have been awesome, I use mine with a Heavy grit, does not need to be industrial strength equipment to work this works perfectly. This does not replace brushing or flossing

I was septical, but had a filling edge stained on my tooth. I gave this product a try. It took a few weeks of everyday use but I was able to polish the stain off. Saved me a dentist visit and new filling money.
