Not a touchscreen
This might be the most important review I write on here. You can get the same laptop but touchscreen from other sellers for the same price. I thought all of them were touchscreen and this had the most reviews so unfortunately I bought it. The laptop itself is great, I love it and the special features you should definitely buy one, just not from here.Update: You may have seen some other reviews that mentioned this, but when you try to play some videos it has this weird freak out, makes a god awful noise then automatically restarts. I had to knock it down a star for that, it's annoying.

Pretty Amazing!
I'll start by saying this is absolutely gorgeous! It is beautiful like no other. The touchscreen is amazing, the red lights, the design, everything. That said, when I first got it, there was a dead pixel. Also note that the price seems to fluctuate for the same thing quite a bit, so I would recommend taking a look at that before buying, or make sure to buy directly from HP. I had issues trying to get help fixing the dead pixel! You do have to delete a lot of hp software when you get it, and boot time isn't bad. I admit I don't use this to it's full capacity, I use it mainly to write or browse the Internet and I've had absolutely no issues in that regard. I did play a few small games on steam, but nothing big that could give an idea of its abilities. It does tend to overheat easily and it's definitely made of cheap, malleable plastic so you have to be careful with it.That aside, it's a laptop, it does its job, it doesn't have any serious problems as far as I can tell. The main reason to buy this aside from the mean specs would be the design, and it doesn't fail in that regard.I do recommend it!Edit: After using it for a few months I have run into several problems. It has slowed down considerably and the problem persists even after reinstalling windows - in other words even without any applications and upon deleting the bloatware the PC comes with. However, this could be because I occassionally do not use my laptop for a week or two. I do not use it daily and when I do it is for typical internet usage, Microsoft office products or one game - which are ALL the nonessential apps downloaded.I am curious as to why it slowed down and never received help for the dead pixel either so I am now dubious about how great a product this is, however maybe there is something to laptops that I am missing. Usually I am a desktop person and have no issues with the desktop.

The very last HP computer I will ever buy...
I have had bad experiences with HP computers. Over the years, I have owned several HP computers, and each and every one of them had multiple issues that were never rectified by HP (even when under warranty). Other computer brands never gave me any trouble. Anyway, when this laptop came out, even though I was hesitant to buy another HP, I am a big Star Wars fan, and against my better judgment, bought this. History always repeats itself, and once again, I ended up getting an HP computer that was a lemon from the start. I had 2 major issues with the laptop right out of the box, and I contacted HP tech support to get some help. As a side note, HP tech support is terrible. They do everything possible to avoid actually talking to you on the phone. They want you to try to diagnose and repair everything yourself with their online troubleshooting. If that fails, you can then get a live person by calling tech support, but even that is tricky, because they do not list the tech support number on the website. You have to fill out an online form and based upon the answers you give, they decide if your situation qualifies for a phone discussion with one of their stellar technicians. If you qualify, you are sent a case number and the toll-free number to call, and then you can actually reach a live person. Then, they will try to walk you through various things to see if they correct your problem, and then, if that does not work, you can send the computer to their service center for repair. All of the aforementioned applies only if the computer is still under warranty, I should note. If you qualify for the service center, you then have to wait for them to send you a postage-paid box and work order that you must send back with the computer so it can be tracked and assigned to the right person. Getting the box takes up to a week. Then, it can take up to 10 business days to repair your computer (it could go longer at times, depending on the problem). I asked the technician if I could simply send the computer to the service center at my own expense, to get the ball rolling as that would cut down on the time I am without my computer (I use my computer a lot for various purposes, including managing the finances of a non-profit I volunteer for), and it is a hardship to be without the computer for very long. The person I spoke with said I could not do that, as I have to wait for their work order to be sent with the box, as the work order contains a bar code that must be scanned to track the order. So, I asked him if he could email the work order to me, and I would print it out, and send the box at my own expense. He said no, the work orders cannot be emailed... So at this point, I was getting rather frustrated, and I told them to send the freakin' box. It came within a week, I sent it back, and within 10 days, I had my computer back. I booted it up and it worked fine for three days, and I am thinking, wow, this is nice, they fixed it! And on the fourth day, the same issue that I sent it back for in the first place appeared all over again. A receipt came with the computer when it was returned to me, and said for post-service issues, contact.... so I did and got another tech on the phone and he walked me through some diagnostics and that did not solve my problem. So the computer went back to HP once again, same procedure, and came back to me, worked for a week, and then boom... same problem again. By then, I was not looking for repair. I wanted either a brand-new computer, equivalent or better, or a full refund. Long story short, HP has refused all of the aforementioned, so I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company, and that dispute is still pending. So in summary, I am officially done with HP products. I will never buy a single HP product ever again.

but so far this is amazing. Compared to Alien ware of the same price
Just got this a couple of days ago, still going through the set up and the updates, but so far this is amazing. Compared to Alien ware of the same price, this one had more RAM, better processor and graphic card with more ram. If there is a change I will updateUpdate, this laptop is fantastic, I can run Illustrator, Photoshop, and In design with no problems. I would recommend this to a friend or anyone that need a powerful gaming laptop.Update to the Update. People if you need a laptop that with perform at top speed, this is the one for you. Sure you can get other brands that will do the same thing, but you will pay through the nose for it. The price for this unit was perfect, and it was delivered on time for my spring semester of school. If there is an issue for the first year, HP is there to help. Wow I should sell for HP, or do their graphic designing LOL
