Vaude Aqua Back Pannier - Red, One Size

I use a rear view camera on my bike, and having a bag on the rack obstructed its view so I opted for these instead. They are absolutely brilliant! The mounting system is superbly engineered and very adjustable. Once adjusted to fit my rack, the two mounting clips at the top of the panniers click lock securely into place when pushed onto the rack, and the lower securing bars fit across the down tubes of the rack providing additional support and also stopping the panniers from sliding forwards and being struck by your heel when pedalling. Each locking clip has a knurled wheel which allows you to adjust the amount of grip required to hold the panniers firmly to the rack and the manufacturers have allowed for different thicknesses of rack tubing by supplying three removable rubber inserts. Just choose the ones that suit the diameter of your rack tubing and pop them into place - so simple and effective. To remove the panniers, simply pull up on the carry handles and the top locks snap open. The panniers themselves are made from a very tough yet flexible material and the roll top closure design is very effective. Once rolled down, the panniers are locked shut with an adjustable strap across the top and I can't see how water could get in unless I drop the bike into a canal! These panniers are big enough to hold anything I could need them for, and there are zip-up pockets inside to hold documents etc that you might like to keep separated. I've only had them for a short time, but I really can't fault their design or function so far. Brilliant items of essential kit.

Worth the investment if you are going to use these a lot. i regularly carry all my kids clobber, water bottles, picnics, picnic blanket, half a week's shopping, my D-lock etc and these still look pristine and are easy to wipe clean. The waterproof material is thick and flexible and feels high quality. The fact the material and water proofing contain no nasties is a big bonus. The roll down top is a great idea for expanding the capacity and the straps are easy to adjust to keep everything secure. Love the easy clip on, pull handle to pull off design. Nice to have a shoulder strap too. The inner compartment with the addition of a smaller zip up mesh pouch for smaller items is also very handy for a wallet, phone, hand gel, tissues etc and is well used. Would highly recommend, and in yellow if you like to be seen!

I love my new panniers. They look great, they are water proof, they carry various size loads, You can use them without doing them up at all, if you have really big stuff to carry, as the fabric has some structural strength they don't collapse when you leave things sticking out... The only down side is there are side straps that I don't generally need to use as the over the top strap works perfectly. So these side straps get into your spokes as you ride along. So really you have to do them up or roll them into the top as you do the bag up.... I'm lazy, it only takes 10 seconds or 20 if you're using both bags... I don't really see why they are necessary, may be part of the shoulder strap system?... On a dry bag that might be submerged yes. On a pannier in the rain, probably not. I'm not brave enough to remove them, they just bother me...

+ Sturdy and high quality + Simple to adjust and quickly attachable to rack + The 2 top clips have rubberized inserts that protect the rack's paintwork - The third clip that stops the bag moving forwards and prevents heal strike does not have a rubberized insert. It has damaged the paintwork. - I travel daily with this and take the shoulder strap, however I have never used the strap because it needs to be detached and stored in the bag when travelling. - The nylon(?) carry handle is ok for light loads but it is not comfortable when carrying heavy loads.

I use them most days for commuting to work. They are big enough to get a couple of bike locks, a bike rain cover, helmet, gloves, full waterproofs, lunch, spare jumper and top all in. So quite big. They are definitely waterproof; I've tested them in the rain on the way to work a number of times and also have left them out in the rain all day too with no water ingress. They seem sturdy with thick materials and robust joints although time will tell, I've only had them a couple of months at most. There are no parts that seem like weak points that would break in not that much time as is often the case in many products these days. 4 stars in versatility as there are no outside pockets for quickly stowing anything, if you want to put something in you have to open it right up and then close it again. Maybe that is not an issue for you. They're not cheap but they are good quality and seem like they will last.

So far so good. I've tested them with a serious dousing with a hose and everything inside stayed bone dry ✔️ They click onto the rack perfectly and the lower latch does not budge when tightened ✔️ Closures all sturdy and seem good quality ✔️ Finally, the price is pretty decent compared to the brand leaders ✔️ Hopefully they will stand the test of time and after a few bike tours I might report more?

I had a friend who has used Vaude panniers for more than 15 years, so I knew they were durable. I have very much come to appreciate the size of my panniers, and how I can fold them down to completely protect contents from rain on one side while in the other pannier, I can keep out most moisture by rolling down to where my fishing rods poke out. I have found no other panniers on the market that better suit my exercise regime with my new ebike as well as my new interest in learning fly fishing. On top of that, the company uses environmentally friendly materials. One caution: Check your attachment settings for the pannier rack regularly, just to make sure they are tight. It is a wonderful release system, by the way.

Extremely sturdy and well built panniers. The side lock is good and tightens well and the two top hooks work well. Waterproof and well engineered I bought the two pack for ~£80 and consider that a great value deal.

c'est pas donné mais ces sacoches que j'utilise quotidiennement sont ultra pratiques, elles s'accrochent et se décrochent facilement, sont très visibles, parfaitement imperméables et de très bonne qualité.

Ce sont des sacoches de grandes qualité. Je voyage à mon travail et je transporte mon ordinateur, vêtements, et lunch sans aucune inquiétude. Elles sont imperméables, ajustables et de bonne capacité de stockage. Très bon achat! J'ai aussi été remboursé pour les frais douaniers. Bon service!
