As real as it gets in the world of us imperfect people and are relationships
I really liked this read because it really hits home for me and most likely us all. This book is about a family and where we all fail, succeed and struggle to find our way in this thing called life , thank you for that line Prince ,its a great one. I think John and Barb stole the show , truly .I laughed out loud, saw myself at times in these characters with the self doubt and what it takes to not only have a marriage but to have a healthy loving relationship in that marriageWe all go into marriage with these grand ideas and expectations and this book really captures the rawness and realness of the unexpected twists and turns that actually happen daily ,yearly and during decades in a span of a life time to us all .I would have loved for more insight from John, I wanted to know so much more of why he chose to do the things he did .Barb was a great character her friendship with Caro was a great one., I loved the diner scene .Juliet 's breakdown was heartfelt and I loved all of Oliver's English wording "Twat" is such a fun word to call someone. Sadie was the hardest character to like or relate to for me , her character needed more depth because she was so wishy washy for me. I wanted to really see her dig in and find herself and get herself , that was the only reason this book wasn't a 5 star read because I just couldn't really get on board with Sadie's character. I think Kristan Higgins is great and all but she missed the mark a bit with Sadie and Noah , that relationship wasn't working that well for me at all but I loved Mickey .So a few loves and a few misses with the characters for me but overall it was a good read and I was happy with it .The Epilogue was good enough, still a worthy read that makes you think about life , joy, marriage and your relationships. I think one thing that author Kristan Higgins showed was how sometimes you can favor one child over another and for many many different reasons. It's not right but it's real and I would have loved a real heart to heart with Barb and Sadie or even Juliet and Sadie about the realness and the cause and effect of that favoritism and how it can and does leave its mark .Again a bit of a missed opportunity from my prospective but I love author Kristan Higgins, I'm a huge fan and I will always be. So again ,good read? yes, absolutely perfect read ?,with Sadie and Noah and their wishy washy relationship and for the missed heart to heart moments the answer is no unfortunately no, not 5 star worthy for me . I'm just such a stickler for realness and thoroughness and real likeability or even hate ability just need some type of emotional understanding of the characters. And for me Sadie and Noah and their relationship was a miss and Sadie's relationship with her mom and her sister well let's just say there were some really important missed opportunities to understanding for me personally to make this a 5 star read. Again this book is a good,it's a solid read and there is nothing wrong with that just wished Sadie and Noah gave me more of the feels of the others .Enjoy though because it is worthy and happy summer all.

CREATING THEIR OWN VERSION OF FAMILY...
The Frosts are a typical American family. Barb and John, married almost fifty years, are testy and bored with each other…who could blame them after all this time? At least they have their daughters—Barb’s favorite, the perfect, brilliant Juliet; and John’s darling, the free-spirited Sadie. The girls themselves couldn’t be more different, but at least they got along, more or less. It was fine. It was enough. Until the day John had a stroke, and their house of cards came tumbling down. Now Sadie has to put her career as a teacher and struggling artist in New York on hold to come back and care for her beloved dad—and face the love of her life, whose heart she broke, and who broke hers. Now Juliet has to wonder if people will notice that despite her perfect career as a successful architect, her perfect marriage to a charming Brit, and her two perfect daughters, she’s spending an increasing amount of time in the closet having panic attacks. And now Barb and John will finally have to face what’s been going on in their marriage all along. My Thoughts:A story about family, with its issues, sibling rivalries, and even infidelity, Always the Last to Know was a book I felt like curling up with on a long rainy day. I was drawn to each of the characters, from the artistic Sadie to Juliet with her architecture and her special closeness to the mother Barb. Sadie’s close connection to John, the father, was changed by his illness, and even when she came to stay in the family home, she held on to hope that all would return to normal. But each family member soon discovers that hopes and dreams do not necessarily come to those who work hard toward that goal. What they do learn, however, is that they can create their own versions of family life, despite the challenges they are facing.I rooted for Sadie to finally connect to Noah, her long-lost love, discovering a way that they could be together in spite of what seemed like very separate versions of happiness. A story that held my interest until the end, it earned 4.5 stars.

A very good read
I enjoyed the story of the three Frost women and their trials and tribulations.I like that rather than being a straight up romance, it was more of a coming of age story . The coming of age wasn't a matter of actual years , but of women coming into their own and feeling right in their own skin. There were parts that made me laugh out loud, and other parts that made me cry, there was even a little romance thrown in.I'd give it 👍👍 two thumbs up.

Great book!
Like the other titles by this author, this is a great read and not just the first time I read it, either:) The dialogue is fresh and funny, especially when Sadie is narrating! It’s a romance but also realistic and relatable. I love all of Higgins’ books.

A multi-viewpoint story that will find fans in many ages.
Told from multiple perspectives within one family, I would recommend this book for adults of any age. It is a lovely, modern take on love, life and partnerships. Be it friendships or marriage, this books tells a story that I think many would be able to relate with in one way or another.By the end of the book, you’ll care for all the characters. Your initial opinion of a character at the start will undoubtedly have changed by the end. Very well done.I’ve loved Kristan’s work for a while and this is another great addition to the collection.
