SLIKQuick Release Plate for DQ-20 Q.R. Adapter, SH-704E & AF-1100E Head, Sprint Pro Tripod with 3-Way Head, Black (618-740)

I bought these because I wanted to be able to change quickly from one camera to another on my existing (Heavy) TriPod with a newer SLIK 704e Head. I also checked if SLIK sells a lighter Tri-Pod with a head compatible with these Quick Release adapter plates. They do. So I got enough to switch out cameras now and have spares in so if I've worn out or lost one after SLIK stops making this particular quick release plate I'll have replacements. For me this is a reality. My current Tri-Pod is in excellent condition and it was new in 1982. I make all my stuff last. If I keep this 3 year old SLIK Tri-Pod head and a new lightweight SLIK TriPod that uses the same Quick Release plates anywhere near as long as I've kept previous Tri-Pods (plus cameras, electronics, etc...) I really could need to replace the quick release plates I'm using long after they go out of production. I bought one to swap out two cameras now (the head came with one plate) and a couple spares for many years down the road.

what can you say? it works. lost mine and had to buy this replacement. fits like a glove.

Read carefully, this is the plate only (which can be had elsewhere for a lot less). Kind of misleading when the picture shows the DQ 20 with a plate on it, but the description is just for the plate. Fool me once, but it's not worth returning. I thought I was buying what was pictured. My fault for not reading the big print.

I have the Slik DQ-20 quick releases for all of my tripods and monopods (4 Gitzo and 4 Manfrotto) and the release plates for my "user" and studio cameras, which includes everything from F series Nikons with motor drives to Rolleiflexes to a Hasselblad. The quality is excellent and they lock securely. The plate uses a built in key to install, so there is no fishing for a coin to tighten or loosen it. I have them on all of my professional cameras except the RB67and recently bought 4 more plates to leave on my recreational ones.This is a well-made product and I highly recommend it.
