Emacs Lisp - An Introduction

Well done book - make sure you get the Reference Manual 2/2 by Lewis, LaLiberte, and Stallman
Using it for learning Emacs Lisp - and you can use it for lots of things not just text. Helpful hint - to get into Emacs Lisp mode, enter "visit new file whateverfilename.el" and that puts you in the right mode, and you're working on a file called "whateverfilename"...

Has the info, but that's about it
Doesn't seem to have gone through any sort of editorial process. Just covers the material not unlike a reference manual would. Huge wasted space around the borders of pages, content could have used a larger font and actually filled the pages. Very disappointed overall.

Excellent primer for anyone wanting to learn Emacs
Very clearly written and easy to follow. I came across this book when I decided to get serious with learning Emacs. As I write this I have been using Emacs for years as a system administration tool on Linux systems. This book along with the GNU Emacs Reference manual has allowed me to greatly expand upon my skills. Highly recommended for anyone who is serious about tapping into the awesome power of Emacs.

This is simply the "Introduction to Programming in Emacs Lisp ...
This is simply the "Introduction to Programming in Emacs Lisp," that comes free as an info file with every copy of Emacs - perhaps lightly edited, but no more than that.

Große Seitenränder
Inhaltlich habe ich nichts zu bemängeln, aber die Seitenränder der gedruckten Version sind viel zu groß.Genauso gut hatte der Inhalt auf ein Din-A 5 Format gepasst.
