Mr. Pen- Machinist Ruler, 4 Pack, (6, 8, 12, 14 Inch) | Stainless Steel Metric & Imperial, Precision Measuring Tool, 1/64", 1/32", 0.5 mm Graduation for Engineering, Carpentry

Note that the largest ruler does come with a sleeve just like the others; I just lost it. These four rulers are nice, made from stainless steel. The edges are sharp enough to slice you, which is good for accurately tracing lines. They come in two lengths and two widths. All measurements are in millimeters: The first is 355.50 long, 26.25±0.05 wide, 0.91±0.02 thick. The second is 304.50 long, 26.20±0.05 wide, 0.91±0.01 thick. The third is 203.00 long, 19.37±0.01 wide, 0.90±0.01 thick. The fourth is 152.00 long, 19.16±0.01 wide 0.90±0.01 thick. All measurements are approximate. All of them appear to be almost perfectly flat (which is impressive), and straight on the business edge. The markings are thin enough that you don't lose accuracy, and it is easy to precisely measure up to 500 microns. Even further, I found it easy to eyeball accurately down to 100 microns because the lines are so thin, straight and sharp. I also like the font. One issue you may note is that the ends are a cut a little bit rough. They have a slight bevel where a guillotine severed the length. Additionally, they do not appear to be perfectly perpendicular with the longest edges, and have a slight variance. This variance means that if you're trying to measure from the zero-end, your measurements will be off slightly. I have a picture attached with the markings lined up which illustrates this issue. It is more noticeable from the imperial side on the 300mm long ruler, which means that particular ruler has a slight offset on that specific side. As for the orange and transparent sleeves that they come with, I have a complaint. These are almost not worth keeping, but only almost. You can't hang them by a nail through the hole because the cut is on the wrong end (gravity), and this makes me wonder why the hole is there in the first place. The tops are also heat-sealed, which means that you can't remedy the problem by sealing the bottom and opening the top. I understand that these sleeves are almost definitively just for protecting the markings and brush texture during transit, and they are still useful for this purpose. Nevertheless, the material is thin and the design cuts prevent them from being more useful. It would have also been nice if cardboard outer-sleeve were more durable, as I would like to keep them in this. There is no easy way to open the package without ripping this packaging. All in all, great rulers for the price. Regardless of my complaints, this is still a 5/5 star item.

Perfect for multiple applications. The zero edge, multiple sizes of rulers and clear & precise markings make these so useful. The sturdiness and weight of these imply that they are high quality, long lasting and super functional.

Beautiful, high-quality rulers! Made of thick, sturdy steel (magnet-tested). Which is nice, since they don't have hanging holes, so you can use a magnetic strip. The markings are deeply incised and paint-filled, so they don't look like they'll wear off easily. They function great; the markings are accurate and easy to read. (Even has 64th and 0.5mm markings which are extremely close together and a bit hard for my eyes to read without a magnifier.) However, since they're relatively heavier than most rulers, they're a bit less portable. Also, the edges and corners aren't very polished, so they're fairly sharp. Might be a feature for some, but you can round them down if it's bothersome to you. Funny to say, but they're probably "heirloom-quality" rulers that your descendents will end up using.

Overall, this Mr. Pen machinist ruler set is a really nice collection of metal measuring tools. Having the four different lengths (6, 8, 12, and 14 inches) covers just about any scale of project I need them for on my workbench. The stainless steel construction feels solid, heavy-duty, and has a good stiffness to it that resists bending or sliding around when you are trying to scribe a line. I really appreciate that they feature both metric and imperial scales, with highly detailed 1/64-inch and 0.5 mm graduation marks for precision work. The black-etched markings stand out nicely against the steel background, making it fast and easy to get a quick reading. The only reason I’m knocking off one star is that the edges and corners on a couple of the rulers arrived feeling a little bit sharp right out of the package. It only takes a quick minute to knock the burrs down with a bit of fine sandpaper or an emery board, but it’s something to watch out for when you first handle them. Once those edges are smoothed out, it’s an excellent, highly accurate set of rulers that offers great value for the price!

I consider these rulers to be pretty accurate for two reasons: 1) They coincide with my mini caliper. 2) The rulers accurately measure the width of an NVMe flash hard drive to 22mm. An NVMe hard drive is typically 22mm in width. As shown in the photos you see the ruler show exactly 22mm for the width of the NVMe hard drive. This is why you may see NVMe hard drives listed as 2280. It means 22 mm in width and 80mm in length. You'll also see in the inch units that the ruler measures the width of the NVMe hard drive as 28/32" or 7/8" as a reduced fraction which is 22.23mm. It seems my mini caliper might be off by ~ .2mm if I consider the NVMe drive to be exactly 22mm in width. The two things I don't like about these rulers are that they were slightly bent and that they are made in China and not the U.S. Other than that they are pretty good rulers and I recommend them for 1mm resolution measuring.

Excellent quality graphics or stenciling of measurement markers! Clear and precise, easy to read! Plus one side is in metric, the other side is in SAE fractions & inches. Not positive on the exact accuracy (for machinists or laboratories)-I have nothing to compare them to. But for electronics and the hobbyist that just needs something easy to read, easy to use, and that should last a very long time! This four pack is excellent! Yes, I said four. You get four individual rules in their own pouches, 1” x 14” , 1” x 12” , 20mm x 205mm , 20mm x 153mm Really, I don’t think you can find or beat this bundle pack purchase of quality for the price! Excellent tools for the serious and everyday person.

Real nice set of metric one side and imperial the other

These are high quality, hardened stainless steel rules. Markings go right to the edge, and are etched into the steel, not just printed on it. Sizes are just right for most all desktop applications. They are finely crafted, heavy in hand, and precision made. I had a geeky little moment of elation when I opened the package, which might be weird for some rulers, but these are professional tools, and they feel like it, and I love owning well made tools that will last for decades and decades.

Perfect set of rulers. They have every measurement i could possibly need.

These rulers are excellent quality with well made marking that should last a long time. I checked some of the measurements against a very accurate caliber and they are spot on. The ends are exactly 1 unit from the first appearing mark, thus it is accurate to use for measuring with the end flat against something.
