NECA 300 Immortal Mask Prop Replica

I actually think this mask is worth the money, its really sturdy, the paint on mine is flawless, and there is no red melting stuff on my face since there is a black cloth inside thing along with three nice face pads, my paint is perfect, its got color variations like the masks in the movies and the ridges are accented well with a darkened metal finish, its really not that bad. you people are being to critical, painting chrome on metal is really hard.

Well the reason i say that is because in john charles's review he says that the inside was red inside the mask and talks about the plastic decaying because of the paints. Not true! at least from the products i recieved!But I revieved my mask today and there is NO red what so ever on the mask. The mask looks like a very convincing steel. Its actually made of fiberclass and is a very very hard plastic. But it actually pulls off the metal look very well. The inside of the mask is covered and padded with 3 pads (1 for the chin and 2 for where the eyebrows go. and where the pads arent there is a black soft material there. The same kind of material that covers the mouth and eyes. The straps that hold the mask is not the usual one elastic band but 2 think bands. One that goes horizontal on the back of the head and another that comes vertical from the top and connects to the other strip. (making an upside town captial T type of strip) The mask is VERY comfortable and looks awsome with my other movie props. I'll definately be playing with it for a while haha. 5 stars!

this actually is a toy - i was expecting a prop-replica for collecting. it's sturdier than most masks, but it's not worth the price. great for a halloween mask, but that's about it. the other "props" from the 300 movie are just as bad. i came across them at a convention and those were even worse. the spartan helmet and shield were flimsy latex rubber. the sword was nice but lame, from a collector's stand point. i also came across the immortals mask at the convention, but i already had the product. had i known, i probably wouldn't have bought it. that's it.

Reading the reviews I almost feel like we are talking about 2 totally different items.Yes, the mask is well molded but the paint...the paint is atrocious.One of the other reviewers mentions a wash over the silver, mine doesn't have that, it is bright silver with streaks were the red undercoat shows through. Indeed, it looks like it was stuffed in the bag / box while still wet.The inside is comfy but I too have the red goo inside.I think this may be a case of a production change mid run. I'd love to know what % of these are returned.Long story short, I'm sending it back.

I still ordered this mask with a heavy heart after seeing a bad review of this mask. When I opened the package, I saw a stunning piece of work! The mold itself is phenomenal. It looks extremely intimidating and is also shiny. There is a lot of work put into it and the cloth in front of the eyes and the mouth is dark but only minorly impairs your vision... like sunglasses. There is no smudging and no red paint, I think Charles may have gotten a defective version. I believe it was a 60 dollars well spent!
