unfortunately these leaked!
My son was so excited to have these - he thought they looked so cool! The fact that there's not "top" to pull on to drink is a neat concept. You have to squeeze the bottle slightly (think NFL Players on the sidelines) and water shoots out. This part is cool. However, the lid actually leaked on both of these. I tried, my son tried and my husband tried. The back lid screwed on as well as I could, and it still leaked, so we returned these.

Look good, but not for bike cage
These bottles look good for general sports use. But, they do not fit in tight bike cages. The bottom is not rounded off like a normal cycling bottle. They do fit in looser metal cages, but not tight fitting plastic ones.

Could be better. I modified it to work.
My bike has the Specialized water bottle cages and these bottles were way too tight at the base for those gage style holders. I used a heat gun and warmed up the base of the water bottles to the point of almost melting and pushed them into a slightly tapered cup that would reshape the base to fit the gages. Worked very well. Now instead of the bottles having a slight expansion at the base, they are mostly straight cylindrical. I see why 50 strong made them taper to fit the typical wire bottle holders that expand a bit at the bottom but is not at all needed on the water bottle. Also, I pulled the stingy water valve out from the back of the lid with a pair of needle-nose pliers to give up the water more generously. I don't mind if they leak out the top. I only use these for long rides in the bottle holder. They work perfect now. Very happy once modified. Good price.

Great customer service
One of the two bottles I received leaked between the lid and body. I brought it to the sellers attention and they shipped me a replacement immediately.I really like the bottles. Big, easy to handle. They are a bit too long to work well in my bike's water bottle cage. They fit, but putting them in and taking them out requires pushing them against my shifter cables. This is not a problem for me in that at my age, I have to stop to remove any bottle. So I just stow it under the mesh on my wheel rack pack.

Not suitable for cycling & lids are too cheaply made.
These are cheap for good reasons. I agree with Amazon user 'Bubba Gump' who said the bottoms of these bottles are too wide to fit in many composite type bottle cages (including mine). That other user heated the plastic at the bottoms and reformed them into a more tapered shape. Too much trouble to return a $10 item so I'll keep my two bottles and try the same thing.I won't buy anymore bottles with this lid type that has triangles along an angled lip. Besides being very hard to grip while wet, it is extremely likely you will cross thread them (see image). There is too little structure in the plastic lids so they easily bow outward and skip threads. You have to push down while turning (pita!) to get them all the way closed. The squeeze valves seem to work well enough to allow the right amount of water out. I wonder how they will be with carbonated beverages? ...Might be fine and just let out extra pressure, which would be better than my current sealed bottles which sometimes blow up when the valves are opened.

I might be wearing almost as much water as I'm drinking
I can't decide if I need to tighten it more or less, but when I squeeze it dribbles out under the lid constantly. The stream is actually quite harsh as well and I found myself choking a bit and having to learn how to drink from this. Even putting it to my lips the thing leaks.

Not as shown
That color is brighter in picture. The bottle is a normal plastic blue bottle. Nothing like what's shown here

Life is just a series of trying out new water bottles.
Maybe these will change my mind! 4 kids, 3 of them boys- we’ve found new and creative ways to destroy the indestructible. Just ordered these the other day but I got 2 thumbs up from the boys after a day of use at school. They don’t leak (so far), two cost less than one contigo (which I’ve always been a die hard fan of but we’ve managed to convert into back pack moisturizers more than once), and they’re simple construction- only two parts, no valves/straws/extra parts to get lost or annihilated, and made in USA- that’s always good to know!I just ordered two more to cover all the kids. I’ll try to update this review as we use them more- if they don’t destroy the internet first.
