Perfect entry to the hobby
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have wanted a 3D printer for years now. My biggest concern was not even the price, it was the complication factor.I know how incredibly complicated and hard to get in to many 3D printers are. When they first became a thing, you had to build them yourself, then program them to work in general, then you had to set up a compatible 3D software to then create your own 3D file to print.Things have changed so very much in the 3D scene. So much.First off, there is nearly no assembly to this. All you have to do is snap it in place and bolt that part on. I’ve put more work into assembling a pair of shoes that didn’t have laces. It’s super simple.Once it is done, you are almost there. You can download gcode files from all over the internet. A gcode file basically describes each pass the printer will take to turn your filament into a 3D object. If it is already set up to be under 4”x 4”, you can get straight in to printing it. Just add it to the microSD card and plug it in. I like using the included Cuda software to make sure the files are properly scaled and will work properly. It’s really nice that you get all of the software you need to get you started, right out of the box. In addition to the software, you get the MicroSD card, the usb card reader, and a started batch of filament. It is EVERYTHING you need to get started. Now, this is a hobby class printer. It is perfect for someone looking to learn about 3D printing, and modeling. It is limited to a build of 4” cubed. It also will not work for high retail builds either (due to the limitations of filament). The two biggest fears I had were about the smell and the sound. I was terrified that this would be as loud as an old dot matrix printer. I know some machines are, but this one is not one of those. It was quiet enough that I couldn’t even hear it when my wife was napping in the same room. That is super quiet. While operating there is a slight smell, and only if you are hovering right over it. It is no stronger than a glue gun, which is not bad at all.For a first foray into a 3D printer, I have to say I am pretty happy. The cost was way less than my threshold. The ease of assembly was spot on. The software was easy to use, and the printer worked better than I could have expected. Truly excited for all of the projects to come.

Love the simplicity of it! Great for beginners, great price!
My husband has wanted a 3D printer for quite some time now.. he collects posable figurines, and has quite an extensive collection ..he has wanted to Replicate our family of 6 into these little toys for a long time.. so I finally decided to surprise him with this for his birthday. It was the most affordable I could find with decent reviews.. so I took a chance with it. And very happy with my choice!!We really just love the simplicity of it! As beginners, this was very appreciated..Right out of the box was ready to use, no difficult assembly required whatsoever.. he had it up and running in minutes! It truly is basically PLUG AND PLAY.The instructions are very user-friendly and easy to understand... I highly suggest reading the whole manual before your first use, as to not waste any of the plastic material that it comes with..he made the mistake of not doing so and ended up melting the mat A little..The software is initially booted in Chinese, but it's very easy to change the language on the upper right hand corner.Comes with a USB loaded with everything you'll need to get started. He did a test run of a small Pokémon For my son.And it came out GREAT!! It was so much fun!If you are just starting out this machine will have you hooked! definitely a Very good 3D printer for those who are just dipping their toes in the 3D printing world !Highly recommended! Totally worth the money!

Surprising results from affordable starter machine
I am totally a newbie when it comes to the 3D printing, so I needed a very user friendly machine to start with so I can use it for my tech and robotics class and not look completely imcompetent. This was the perfect little starter model to invest in. The price point is excellent for a 3D machine, but I was worried the machine would not be worth even that since the price point for 3D printers can be significantly higher. I was delightfully surprised at the results and how well I was able to do with this machine though.Pros: It assmebles very easily right out of the box. My 10 year old son and I basically assembled this in about 5 or 10 minutes. Note, be sure to look carefully at the video in the description because it is more clear that you need to thread a section of the wires through the hole to the exterior before putting in the screws to secure the bottom section. It comes with software that is very user friendly, but it defaults to Chinese and it prints in mirror reverse. You can also download the free version of Ultimaker Cura and get a lot more options (which I personally recommend), plus the ability to convert other files into the gcode files, which are the only type of files this machine seems to recognize. A lot of 3D printers apparently use stl files, so when you get free files from 3d printer sites (or paid files), you will need to convert it.You can use the Ninjatek filament to create cool rubbery designs and they stick really well to the base. You can print at least 10 to 12 inch items, but I recommend making sure you definitely include a base on those designs for stability and because the plate doesn't get hot, to make sure your item doesn't fall over in the middle of a project. You can pause and restart a project, and it can easily print a project that takes several hours without any issues.I do not recommend using larger than the 1.75 size filament, and it only works with PLA filament.Has one click slicing.Low power consumption.Very quiet printing.Cons: The pla filament thread that comes with the machine comes loose and not on a spool. Plus, the thread is not a consistent 1.75mm size throughout, and a very low quality. So I highly recommend you get some better filament before starting a project or you will get inconsistent results when printng. This is an easy fix.The print area is very small. The filamant arrives in a loose format and doesn't come with a spool small enough to fit on the spool holder, however, most filament spools are significantly larger than the spool holder can handle. There is a 3d printed large spool holder you can download and print or have a friend print for you. Look up EZthreed printer. (same for other printer ideas and directions), and it fits over the top area of the printer set up.The cords are not very easy to keep out of the way of the printer, so I usually recommend some binder clips for it.The manual is not very helpful, but the tutorial videos available online are much more helpful.HUGE CON: the non heated magnetic base. The base doesn't get hot, so it doesn't help the filament stick to the base very easily, and can shake it loose. Solutions: after a while, definitely use 3 binder clips to keep the magnetic sheet on the base since the base gets warped after not too long and the magnetic sheet isn't strong enough to hold it long term. Another temporary fix is using a glue stick or 3D printer glue on the baseplate to hold the filament to the base securily while it gets going until it is released.Aligning the base can be tricky and there is a bit of a learning curve to the software. Be sure to adjust the temperature from the default to the higher setting and resave your gcode files.Con: you can only print one one file from the micro sd card, and it will print the most recently added. I think there is a way now to direct print from the computer to the 3D printer, but I haven't figured that part out quite yet.Despite any of the cons, the pros still outweigh them for this machine in my opinion as a beginner printer and for small projects and for working with younger students. It is such a great little starter unit and very good to show students as a introduction to 3D printing, and definitely prints better than one would expect for the price. I think sometimes because of the print area and the non heating base it can sometimes get a bad rep, but it still can do some good work with better quality filament and a little patience.
