Genmitsu KABA Acrylic CNC Enclosure - Enhanced Protection, Dustproof, Noise Reduction, Compatible with 3018-PRO/3018/3018-MX3/3018-PROVer/1810-PRO, 460 x 400 x 310 mm

Very glad I picked up an enclosure. Is this the best enclosure for the price? I don't know but it's pretty good. i have two complains:1 - it doesn't come with any sort of bottom. the CNC is still rather loud because of this. i cut up a foam mattress topper and got some packaging foam to make a bottom for the CNC to sit on and this helped with the noise a lot. it's pretty much necessary, but after you do this the enclosure is great.2 - the adhesion on the magnetic strips does not work great, the strips fall off and get all the CNC dust under them. i just soaked them in acetone to remove all the existing adhesion and i'm gonna use something better to put the strips back on, hopefully they stop coming off.

The enclosure was easy to put together. Assembly instruction were easy to follow. Couple places which were unclear was how to attach the handle and the orientation of the inserts for the front of the enclosure where the door is to sit. There is no option to add the emergency stop button to the outside of the enclosure but it is accessible from the top. Plenyty of space for a 3018 cnc. Overall a good solid product.

I ordered this to go around my Sainsmart CNC machine. This cover fits, and assembly wasn't too hard (just time consuming). The problem is that the magnetic tape mine shipped with didn't adhere very well to the frame, and within 3 uses it had become detached and unwilling to stay attached if re-attached. If you do purchase this, know that it works well but you're going to have to superglue the magnet tape or something. I haven't found a solution yet, I've been leaning the front panel loosely against the main body when in use, as a nominal guard and to minimize dust.EDIT:Sainsmart support reached out to me with a multitude of ideas to address this problem. While the problem was easy to fix (I used some small neodymium magnets with epoxy), I want to commend the effort that the support team went through to provide a positive experience here.

Perfect fit for my 3018 PROver, only complaint is the E-Stop is not accessible when the cover is on fully. Would like to see this changed but not a huge deal. Very easy to assemble and very solid construction. Would strongly recommend.

Updated: customer service got back to me after I ordered a replacement. The replacement was good and didn't break when out together. Customer service semen happy to try to correct the issue.Corner brackets were cheap cast metal. 5 out of 8 snapped while being screwed in. Broken areas show air inclusions and internal oxidation indicative of poor casting. I liked the router I purchased from this seller and expected way better quality than this. Returning for a replacement and will update review if the results are better, although I can't imagine how they'd get much worse.

Received the product and was very impressed on the way it was packaged. Once I started assembly the corner brackets which are a poor quality cast metal broke where the screws go in. I contacted customer support and they were very quick to return my email. Once i explained my issue and sent them some pictures to verify what my issue, they were very fast to send me new parts out and also included new screws. I would recommend this product along with their spectacular customer support.

Easy of assembly : 5 stars. Good directions right in the box - no hunting for a pdf that ends up being in Mandarin. Took a little over an hour at a relaxed pace.Packaging /Part Quality : 5 stars. A lot of kits like this come with extrusion that is full of chips, oil, and dirt, and that wasn't the case. Very clean right out of the box, well organized, well packed, and all contents there.Dust proof : 4 Stars. Mostly dust proof, but unless it's on a perfectly flat surface, there are air gaps under the bottom rails. I tried an MDF surface, a plywood surface, and a plastic surface It really has to be ideally flat to close the bottom gap - I'd recommend they include some sort of rubber bottom or sealer/filler to really close it out.Noise reduction : 1-2 stars. It helps lock in extreme highs which is good for your ears, but mids, and low mids, forget it - they're coming through. On average, it only reduces my spindle noise by about 10dB - still a positive, but not even remotely close - bear in mind dB is log, not linear - to the advertised reduction...that was disappointing, but kind of expected. It really needs to be made from denser material or additional layers to quiet it down as much as advertised.

This is a well made product with only one exception. It goes together very easily and will control dust generated by the engraver as well as lessen, but not eliminate the noise.As other reviewers have noted - the sticky tape on the magnetic strips do not hold and will eventually fall off the plexiglass and the aluminum frame. The fix is very simple - buy a good quality roll of double sided sticky tape from a hardware store and reapply to the magnetic strip. I removed the original sticky coating by gently rubbing my thumb over the glue. It's removal is fairly easy and gives the replacement tape a better surface for adherence. I've run my engraver for a couple of months now inside this enclosure, with the tape replaced and the magnetic strips are still firmly attached. Replacing the sticky is well worth the effort and makes the enclosure a great addition to the engraver.

Hello, I got the box assembled quickly but the magnetich strips are a disaster. Found some advice to use a hairdryer to heat up the glue and in that case they stick a bit longer but after a few minutes they get loose again. Going to get me some glue to stick them thight. Better add some glue to the package to get those strips fixed.

Only the glue strip is not good enough, despite good cleaning on forehand to maximize glue strip performance

The magnetic strips even using the heat gun are pretty much useless. The rest of the enclosure is great but the magnetic tape is an issue.

The adhesive on the magnets that hold the door shut dont work
