Update #2: We got it back working. Lost everything that wasn’t stored in the cloud but didn’t have to buy another computer which is a plus. Update: After 3 years of use the computer started having problems. It would reboot randomly and now doesn’t want to boot up. Ran some diagnostics on it and it seems to be an issue with the hard drive. I’m going to try replacing it, hopefully this works. Great for work and personal life.

Recommended this for a customer of my IT business. His existing desktop was on its last legs (built for Windows XP sticker on it), and this was a priority purchase. This has a 512GB MVME SSD (rare at this price point), 8 gigs of ram, which we immediately upgraded to 16, 8 usb ports and a DVD drive which is handy for businesses. it is compact, relatively free of bloatware, and the Windows 10 updates took less than an hour. With the Ryzen 3200 APU you will not be doing intense gaming, but for a small business this is a perfectly competent machine. At $449.99 US this is a good machine. One thing to note, with a 180 watt PS, do not plan on adding a discrete graphics card.

Computer died after 11 months under warranty. However warranty service is not available in the Charlotte NC area even though they have listed 5 repair locations. These locations report they do not do warranty work on HP computers. These locations say they have had no success in having their names being removed from HP's list. It looks like once the computer is out HP's door you are on your own as the warranty they tout is totally worthless.

It is so quiet I don’t know whether it is off or on

This thing is fast. I don't care how the RAM is dispersed. This SSD is one fantastic new idea. I can't even hear it, it makes no sound. I still have windows 10 (BOO). No DVD player with this OS. Not that I need one. I have no use for the (gaming) ability since I only play online games. The keyboard (I didn't need) is junk.

Was going to build nearly this identical machine, same APU, etc. at roughly the same price. This has DVD and wifi, that are extra with most byo machines. All I've done is add an addt'l 8GB of RAM, which for most uses, ya'd never need. Been a month or so, and not a single complaint.

I purchased this product because every time I used the computer I had, there was a pop up stating my browser was "too old" to manage that site's programing. But, the computer was dependable for the many years I had it. This one stops with "a problem that has to be fixed and the computer restarted. EVERY time I use the computer and numerous times. . I am constantly booting it. It just shuts down. I believe it to be a rebuilt computer although I searched to be sure I did not purchase a rebuilt computer. One will only know that if that information is provided by HP. I am finding with this computer and well known appliances, there is no quality from any of the companies we have come to know in the past. I have used HP computers since 1999 without one problem. This one indicates how little care HP gives to its products anymore.
