Prolux 6000 Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Sealed HEPA Filtration with On Board Tools

We bought this vacuum almost 5-years ago and it has been a really good vacuum, especially for the price. A few weeks ago, I went to use it and the lights came on but not the vacuum motor. I figured we were going to have to buy another vacuum. However, I noticed that this one had a 5-year warranty so I thought I would check into it. The response time was almost immediate. They had me ship the vacuum to them, and the not only fixed the problem, but cleaned the whole thing out and replaced the hose without my even asking. Then they turned around and shipped it back to me within a couple days. I was very impressed with the whole experience and I have my vacuum back up and running!

This was purchased for our church custodians. They have about 2000 square feet of carpet to clean every week. They are very happy with the Prolux 6000 vacuum. The wand that can be used without connecting and disconnecting any hoses is something they really appreciate - great for picking up things in corners where the whole vacuum will not reach. Our previous vacuum had a lot of electronic gadgetry and dual belts that cost around $40 and an engineering degree to replace. With all the gadgetry (most of which was of no great use) we had one repair after another on a vacuum that would have cost around $600 to replace. The Prolux was less than half that amount and works better = great value. We have only used it for about 3 months, so we cannot comment on reliability, The only negative is that lightweight it is not. That could be a problem if you have to carry it up stairs a lot. So far it does everything you would expect from a vacuum and does it very well.

I love this strong vacuum. I have gone through a variety of more than half a dozen household vacuums. I have literally tried them all: bagged, bagless, canister, even a Roomba. Nothing lasted, especially not against a Golden Retriever's fur. I have finally found the perfect vacuum. With a detachable hose, tools, and a light, even my nine year old doesn't mind vacuuming and actually finds it enjoyable. It isn't too heavy and does a thorough job of cleaning daily. This Prolux 6000 comes highly recommended.

The vacuum seems not to do well on bare wood floors, for some reason it seems to send more particles into the air then into the bag on smooth floors.A wheel on the base shattered, broke into lots of little fragments. I contacted Great Vacs and was sent a new replacement base (with wheels) which was easy to change out. But again a wheel shattered, not sure if the wheels used were engineered for use on hardwood floors.

Perfect!!! Exactly what I've been looking for at much less than I planned on paying. Mine arrived quickly and with an extra maintenance tool. This vacuum is very similar to the one we have at the fire department that I work for and that one is nearly indestructible. This one appears to be the same for much less. $264 vs $399I'm very happy with this purchase.

Use this vacuum to vacuum 7 elementary school classrooms and so far so good. Does clog like most uprights, but if you pay attention you won't burn it up. I have a metal rod in my cart to clear it with. Might buy another of the more commercial models later. This one only is warranted 90 days for commercial use. But it is a good machine.

I really like this none frills vacuum and love that it has bags. Hate the bagless vacuums they are so messy.Price is great.
