it worked for us- can only do the fan or the light. not both.

Am I the only one to notice that Carling still makes the original switch w/o the re-usable screw mount frame ? (read the tiny numbers...)

I don't know about the Carling part of it but my unit did not hold up well at all. Maybe 6 months of use and it quit. Have not yet removed it to check what the problem it but was hoping for better results.

Switch (uninstalled) functions w/1990 jennair c203. how do your remove the defective switch to install the new switch? star nuts unreachable.

You need to remove the switch plate. The power must be turned off to the stove at the circuit breaker before you do anything. And test to make sure it is completely off. Then, the switch knobs have to be pulled off. There are nuts under each knob. These have to be removed. At the back, in the grill compartment, there is a screw that has to be loosened to remove the plate under the switch knobs. Then, you will have access to the rocker switch, which can be easily replaced. It may sound complicated but it is actually quite simple. The most important thing is to make sure that the power is completely turned off at the circuit breaker. There can be 220VAC in the wires and that is quite dangerous.
