Poor company response to warranty complaint.
This is my 2nd DR trimmer. I had difficulty starting the first one for the 5 years I used it. However, there is no dealer/repair for DR in this state so I kept it and used it doing much of the mechanical work myself. It was a constant frustration. However, we live on the desert and did not require the constant use of a large lawn. It worked very well for the trimming I required.I purchased a new one in September of 2022 to use this year (2023). This weekend I went to use it for the first time and it would not run. The trimmer head belt was torn and several inches were missing. Picture enclosed. I called the company as it is still under warranty and they told me they do not cover the belts and would not replace it. They offered me a 10% discount. This is my 2nd trimmer at a cost of about $500. each and this offer made me sure that this company does not care at all about customer relations. Michael Jacobson

Replacement Parts Not Available
Below is a copy of the email I just sent to DR "customer service" regarding unavailability of replacement parts. If they respond, I'll post it.Gentlemen:I bought one of your trimmers 11 years ago, serial # 122147. I have been using it about four times each year and it has less than 100 hours of use.The tires keep failing. They split down the middle around the circumference of the tire. I have had repeated failures with your wheels which causes me to believe they were made from substandard material.I just called to order yet another expensive wheel assy for my trimmer and was told they aren’t available any longer. There are no replacements of any kind for this specialized wheel. I find that to be unacceptable.Your representative suggested I try to find a used wheel on Ebay. I looked and there aren’t any.Your rep also suggested I could upgrade to a new machine. Really? I now have a $1200 trimmer that is only 11 years old and now essentially worthless because the you, the manufacturer, won’t supply replacement parts.Do you honestly think I will buy another of your now $1300 machines so I can experience more of this nonsense in the future? Not likely.I have been pleased with Dr products until now. I also own a Dr Power Grader and have owned a DR Tow Behind Brush Mower (serial # 0000001).This trimmer will likely go to Goodwill since it is no longer usable for lack of wheels. Maybe someone can use the engine for something.I will say that I’m glad I put off buying one of your Power Wagons. It won’t happen now. I will also be sharing this experience with friends and neighbors. I wouldn’t want them to make the same mistake I did.I’ll conclude by saying that I’m extremely disappointed by your lack of support for your product. I expected better from DR. I won’t be buying any more of your equipment. It’s simply too much of a risk.

Down graded
I bought the DR Premier to replace my old Premier and was that a mistake. They both have electric start but the new one doesn’t even have an alternator to charge the battery. You have to plug it in with a wall wart to charge. It also doesn’t have the power my old one had plus it’s noisier. I’m very disappointed in DR. It cost almost $300 more than my old one also. The quality is terrible and I’m done with DR.

Never Again
I wrote DR tech support the following..."I purchased an allegedly new DR Trimmer/Mower last September which replaced an older DR Trimmer. The new unit was delivered on September 28. Last week during the second use of the trimmer since receiving it the trimmer ball stopped spinning. I didn't think much about it and pushed the trimmer back to my garage for later investigations. I thought the trimmer control cable would need adjusting. My first surprise was finding the trimmer control cable from the factory adjusted fully clockwise. There is no further adjustment to remove slack. My second surprise came after removing the lower panel to reveal a very badly stretched, pitted and cracker trimmer head belt. This belt looks like one from a 10 year old heavily used trimmer not one new enough to be on it's first tank of gas! I now have doubts about the newness of my "new" DR Trimmer. "I've used DR products for a long time but after this experience have concluded there are better alternatives. (Edit) FWIW- I did not buy this trimmer from Amazon but directly from DR Power.

Only Used a handful of times first season
Next year couldn’t get the thing to even start. Not what I expected for how much it cost. The cheap one I gave to my sister (200-300$) has lasted over 6 years of weekly use. Will never buy again from this company

They used to be good
before Generac bought the company. Now they only work when the string is first installed. So that is like 10 minutes.I had the original model and it was the best weed trimmer ever.I bought the Premier again and I hated it so much I bought the Pro the next season but there was no difference. The power of DR Power trimmers is gone.

Do not buy. Overpriced. low power.
Have had this push weed trimmer for two summers. First summer, carburetor part needed replacement, the idle wasn't constant at any idle speed. Part was under warrantee. Try using for thick grass, weeds, prickers, underpowered, line spindle stops when under a heavy load.
