Easy to use, very useful tool
The media could not be loaded. This is one of those tools that you just can not figure out why it hasn't been made for longer, and why it took so long to try it out.It is an absolutely amazing layout tool for doing flooring. My husband do a lot of hardwood and tile floors, where making the flooring mate around objects can sometimes be very unforgiving. The rulers are made of a black thermoplastic. It combines an adjustable protractor with plane measurements / setting. The whole unit works off of a set of sliding plastic t nuts. It seems that they can be easily overtightened and strip out the threads in the plastic t nut.It is a layout transfer tool, do not torque it down. It does not take up much space, and can be a huge time saver on odd jobs.My husband never realized how much he could use it until I got him one.

Gifted - Seems Useful
I gave this as a gift to someone else. We opened up the box together, and we both thought it's a very creative tool that can be super useful. They seemed pretty hard to read at first, so the person I gave them to had to do a little research. However, they overall seem pretty straightforward and accurate. She's going to test it out first by making a wishing well with a little triangular roof to see if she can get the roof angle nicely with these.Overall, cute gift for anyone handy, regardless of gender.

Good template tool
There are two questions for this tool. First, is this something you need? Second, if you need one, is this one any good?I use this mostly for woodworking. I build furniture and do other small to medium sized woodworking projects. I use this template tool, on average, maybe a couple of time per month to capture and transfer odd angles or four-sided shapes that aren’t rectangular. For me, there are three categories of “stuff” in my workshop. "Category 1" is stuff that I keep in my shop apron, so it’s in easy reach all the time. "Category 2" is stuff that I use often enough that I know exactly where it is. "Category 3" is the stuff I know I have somewhere, but I’ll probably have to go looking for it. This tool falls into “category 2.”Is this one any good? It’s made entirely of metal. The bars are aluminum. Each has a slot down the center, and the back of each has a shallow dado surrounding the slot. This prevents the square-headed screw that attaches to the adjustment knob from turning when you loosen or tighten the adjustment knobs. With the knobs loosened a bit, the parts slide easily and as smoothly as can be expected. The markings are etched and painted, so no worry about the markings wearing off.In summary, the tool for me is handy, but not essential; it doesn’t take much storage space; it’s inexpensive, and this one is of good quality.

A new Permanent gadget in my toolbox
Again another tool I've been looking at getting and never did. I've been using cardboard cutous and never being as accurate and easy as this. It's now a permanent in my toolbox. Super easy to use and accurate. I install smart home devices and this is perfect for finding the angles and exact cuts

Metal Template
I like that this is made of some sort of metal/aluminum for a longer life than the plastic models. It folds down easily to fit in its bag and the added ruler is a nice bonus. You can replicate 4 sided shapes in the inside OR you can duplicate angles with the outside.

Less Precise As It Looks, But Good Enough For Rough Cuts
As many reviewers mentioned: This tool is a time-saver. Transferring a shape is ten times faster than measuring or cutting a cardboard template. But you need to know: Measuring and a cardboard template is still more exact. That is because you actually need three hands to tighten the screws and keep it down so the rulers don't move. It would add a lot more precision if it would lock down to hold it and turning the screws. It still gives you a good idea. That means it's good for most construction and building related work (flooring, tiles, drywall patches). Not so much for woodworking. I tried to make inserts for my drawer and it was never good enough that it looked good all around. Something was always off.The tool itself is of okay quality. Sure enough not the most durable metal, but in this price range a good finish and clear and easy to read print. I don't like the adjusting screws. I think they feel too light and scratch very easy. Not difficult to replace though. I think if you own a house this will come more useful than you might think. I hope it helps to make a decision.
