How does the rubber head connect to the hammer?

I can't really answer that question because it is attached so tightly to the hammer head. I highly recommend this hammer. The handle is really tough unlike wood and cushions the blow and it is very well balanced. I love it and would purchase another one but this is still like new after putting in 1000 sq ft of flooring.

The 45oz is plenty heavy enough. If you have a lot of flooring to do, you might get tired of swinging the heavier hammer all day.

Great mallot

Amazing mallet. Actually moves hardwood when you swing it. Comfortable, balanced, durable. Great for large hardwood projects. Might be a bit unwieldy for trim and light carpentry.

I lost mu old with wooden handle so bought this one as a replacement. Works very good for me. Solid made and well balanced. I don't recommend cheap brands - from my experience - getting apart
