Very well built, and smart looking. Really does the job. Great to control a naughty or spooky horse. When the horse stop pulling the chain release the pressure, which helps the horse to understand not to pull.

This was a god send for my daughter whose horse is a bit naughty at wintertime.. she has a fairly long walk down a country lane now he is in a winter field .. he is a big horse for 15.2h and very strong, this gives her the control , not him

This is could be very severe- so you have to use it carefully. When I have had to use it , I have found it v effective using virtually no pressure. For my sometimes bargy mare just the presence of the chain is enough. I think it could make handling a difficult horse safer .

The first one of these I bought was great, then sadly they have gone the way of all things in that the metal work is now cheap. The second one broke after a few uses and this one broke after one use creating a hugely dangerous situation as we were using it on a stallion covering a mare. Luckily he’s good mannered. I think it’s appalling that an item bought for safety reason can be so dangerous. I did not send back as I needed it for the season and repaired the broken links with other clips. I will never buy one again. I’d hoped the second one I had that did not last long was just faulty but now I know they are made this way. Get yourself a good headcollar with rounded off fixings where the nose and is joined up so that if you put a chain or a rope through it can’t jam in the corners and do it that way as these are now a waste of time.

Seems to do the job - was worried about the strength of the chain after reading some reviews where some people had said it failed - but so far, so good with mine. Nice padding in the headpiece and nose and as well. Use mine to take one of my big, excitable horses from stable to field.

i never was a dually fan but i had more experience with a dogs 'check' chain so this suits me with my sports horse filly who can flip like a switch and our draft mare who shows stallion behavior.. quick tug release and theyre back in the room as the man says! saves me getting stood on since this is your dance space isnt working.
