Quite detailed descriptions, but maps not as good as expected.

Although we can't go along the SWCP this year, it has whetted our appetite to go down and have some days out. Amusing, anecdotal, without being preachy, these books are great. The right amount of info without going into too much detail. Well done and worth the incredibly low price. Also have the Hadrian's Wall book by these bods, well worth a read and we found all the Roman stone phallus' that had been carved into the wall ....

Walked 7 days carrying this guide book and an OS 1:25K map. Often ended up looking to the guide to help us find the path and its route planning section is great. Absolute must for anyone walking the path - will help you find food, a bed and a nice cuppa enroute, and most importantly...make sure that you have all the details for the multiple river crossings that are mandatory on this walk almost daily.

Highly recommend this book.Recently went on a trip to Weymouth and this guide proved essential.The content extensive with tips on walking,hotels,pubs & where to eat,where to stay etc brilliant.Just a small point;some of the Map Guides were somewhat puzzling but once you thought how they recorded the paths all became a bit clearer.Well done to the authors.Buy It!

I found it very hard to follow the maps as all in black and white good information on accommodate but I will not be able to uses on walk

Great to accompany a day walk or the whole trip.But if you are carrying a back pack the whole set gets a bit heavy so post home when complete.... hehehehe
