Camera overheats
This camera is for use in controlled temperature environments only. I installed this camera in my garage and it would overheat and start flickering. This camera is not worth the money. I returned the camera and ended up buying a cheap FOSCAM that worked much better. The aperature and focus adjustment rings are cumbersome and are cheaply made. I could not get a good picture when changing to high resolution. Don't waste your money.

It has been working OK at -20 deg. F
I have used every everyone of the cameras in this Manufactures line indoors. However outdoors the focus is not as sharp as any of the earlier units indoors. Light sensitivity is also poor so when you open up the iris and try to focus the depth of field is gone. I don't even want o think about going out side and trying to make any optical adjustments with below zero temps. One other thing, the snapshot feature is great but you can not disable it during the business day. And you can get hundreds of emails. Snapshot needs a delay so that security lights have a chance to com on.

Worst mega pixel IP cam I have used yet.
Upgraded to the latest firmware did not fix the problem.Good:1)It feels solidBad1) Horrible image quality ,Really is bad( Axis is ten times better )2) Does not look anything close to the resolution advertised ( I checked the settings )3) Very bad flickering problem during certain hours of the day. I don't know why.4) Runs so hot that you cant touch it. It feels like you can cook eggs on it.5) Poor lens quality6) Camera occasionally freezes and needs to be restarted7) Really poor night visionSeriously, don't waste your time. I'm saying this to prevent you from making a bad choice.

Crappy Camera
I usually don't write flame reviews but after installing eight outdoor IP cameras, I had to write this to warn people. The IP system I use is computer based and runs Blue Iris software. This was my first IP system (usually I install analog systems) and wasn't sure about what brands to buy so I bought a few from 3 different companies to try them all out. Trendnet IP cameras were the cheapest so I bought 4 of them, 2 axis and 2 toshibas. All 8 cameras were installed in external housing units with a blower. The trendnet cameras suffer from flickering almost at the same time everyday. They also have ghosting/artifact issues, poor night vision ability, and less than sharp images. The axis units were better and Toshiba were by far the sharpest (Toshiba sold the lens separately). Before anyone tells me you get what you pay for, just remember, a camera that can't see a person's face clearly is useless and isn't worth a penny. I have since replaced 2 of the 4 trendnets with Toshibas.Final advice, for outdoor IP cameras, try another brand.

A pity, I'd thought they would do a better job
I've had mine for about a year now. The resolution is not anywhere near advertised, my picture is blurry, even worse after I installed the firmware which fixed the flickering. Yesterday the camera continuously recorded video, even though it was supposed to be triggered by motion. It stopped sending images overnight, and now doesn't record motion at all. I will have to replace it, and am not happy. And yes, it runs pretty hot inside a shaded enclosure, with outside temp less than 75 degrees. High temps are the enemy of electronics, so it's demise was predictable.-----Well, I was a little premature in my pronouncement of it's demise. It is still running, now seemingly better and less hot since I switched the power from PPOE to direct powering by 12V.
