Q: do you have to airpop or can you put a couple of tablespoons of oil at bottle over uncooked kernals

I do AirPop and put butter in the silicone cup on the top, I would imagine you could put a little oil in the bottom with the popcorn. I pops the kernels great.

Q: Roughly how many calories is one plain lid full?

The number of calories is dependent of what kernel and other things you put in. This is meant for whole kernel popping and you can add butter, salt or flavoring to your liking or not at all. Calories are based on what you’re using, there is no set answer. Check your bag of kernels to determine calories without any extras.

I bought two kinds of popcorn and even paid good money for Orville Reddenbacker. Still all didn't pop and still burned. I have no real good answer for you😐
