Great Light
I have a deep 50 gallon, and this thing is able to grow my aquatic plants, even some of the higher light ones. It has settings to simulate daylight, has a red blue or green button, a random setting, etc. It is lightweight, easy to set up, and has been running reliably now for a couple of years. It was a little pricey, but I'd rather pay an extra couple of bucks for something I know is going to work. In all, it's a great light, it isn't going to grow corals or replicate the sun, but it will grow algae and medium to low light req. plants, for sure.

Great light for the price
The media could not be loaded. I needed a light right away and this one did the trick, great for the price point. I like the simple switch to turn it off and on, nothing too fancy if you just want a straight up light. This light does not penetrate too far so if you’re looking for brightness may want to double up if sticking with this model. Although my water just received a large piece of fresh wood and had some rich tannins in it, the lighting is still ok. The slim body will sit well with two on the tank as well. However, structurally the middle does fall a little, so if using on an open top tank may want to consider some extra support. I show this in my video, it’s not extreme but should be considered. Mine is fine with the flush glass top. All in all with the different lights I’ve used over the years this one’s a decent straight up light without any bells and whistles.

Works great!
Ive has this light for about a month and it works great! Big upgrade from the fluorescent light I had before since the tank is so deep (55gal tall). It was really hard for me to grow plants before, but I’m remodeling the tank with plants now that the light goes all the way to the bottom. My fish are so much brighter. Feels a little cheap since the covering is plastic but it is still very bright.Make sure to go with one on the bigger end of length because the metal pieces that hold up the light can easily slide out of each end. If the light is just long enough, the ends may fall out ending up with your tank in the water.Would recommend also buying a timer (make sure it can be used with a 3 prong plug) so you don’t have to worry about turning it on and off all the time.

Good Budget Oriented Option
I’m currently using the 72”-84” full spectrum version on a low tech sparsely planted tank. It fits the bill for what I need it to do.I recommend using this light for simple low tech planted aquariums or if you are looking for better lighting in a fish only aquarium.Setup is dead simple, simply push the standing feet into the slots and plug it in. The feet rest on the perimeter of the aquariums rim or glass canopy. The moonlight option is really what sold me on this fixture. If you have nocturnal fish and want to see them in their full behavior moonlighting is awesome. The full spectrum light does provide enough light for hardy aquarium plants like java moss, swords, anubias etc. but don’t expect anymore or you’ll be disappointed.Out of the box controllability is not possible, there are no standard timers, dimmers, or spectrum controllers. A digital timer must be used in addition to this light and there is no option to automatically switch to moonlight mode, it must be done manually as needed. This unit is priced very fairly. If you want high PAR outputs and controllability you are simply going to have to pay a lot more for a different fixture. If you are in the market for a budget friendly option this is a winner.

Price wise this is a life saver
The media could not be loaded. My previous light went down on my 150gallon due to electrical failure and I did not have the finds to replace that pricy one Ive have for 5+ years so I seen this and went for it. It could be brighter but what more could u ask for for this price. The moon mode is cool too. Its a win win. Easy setup. Great start up light aswell.

Light sags at center. Poor design and materials.
The light comes in 2 parts and 2 metal rods and a thin metal plate are supposed to keep the entire light unit from sagging at the center. Well it doesn’t work and the light completely sags at the center when joined together. I had to rig a support from underneath to keep the light from sagging on to the aquarium glass top. Very poor design and false advertising, disappointing that you would sell something that is meant not to sag but the materials are so poor that it does. I won’t buy from you again.I have not received the 3 year protection plan by email which I paid extra for as promised.

Very bright, nite blue and fulldaylight - no dimmer function though
Great lite for the money. my only issue is lack of a dimmer - but for the price still worth it. ill try it with an aftermarket dimmer switch and see if it works. A bit too bright for my Lamp Calvus'
