V3 365nm MINI Black Light UV Flashlight

This is a very nice black light. I am a rock collector, a glassblower who works with UV and glow colors and glue that sets under the correct UV frequency. I also create art using resins that require UV light to harden and this light works great for all of these at a nice small portable size. It also works really well for charging blacklight things and for taking pictures of any of your UV reactive items. The nice thing about it is that it doesn't make the whole thing wash out in a purple color, it actually more just stimulates the UV or glow characteristics without the purple color change that other wave lengths do. This is great for one of the steps of checking my gemstones (the reason I bought it). And the bonus was I could also see if my kitty sprayed on the blanket (instead of having to use my nose up close). I'm very happy with this black light. Very easy to use: just double click the button on the end. Easy to recharge. I've had this for almost a year now and so far it seems to be very good quality, in my opinion. The price seems very fair to me.

I bought this as one of the least expensive UV lights that I actually knew would put out 365nm light. And it does! I didn't think I'd love the rechargeable battery setup, but it's fine. It has a USB-C socket to charge with any charger, or you can use the one that comes with it. The battery capacity is large, so it takes quite a while to charge...I think more than an hour. The charge indicator LED on the light switches from red to green when it's charged. I'm using it for UV leak detection, and it's absolutely perfect for that.

Good UV source, takes a long time to charge with the included power adapter (it actually comes with one - surprised), comes with a QR code instead of a booklet or manual, offering FREE extended warranty and FREE companion manual. I don't like having to download stuff from an unknown website or offer up personal info for something that should be included in the first place. Could pack the spare seals better, so they don't get damaged, disappear in the garbage or get misplaced when / if they're needed sometime in the future.

Update Written Oct 7th. I received my replacement uvBeast 365nm MINI on Saturday Oct 5th before 10pm. It works perfectly and I am very happy not only with the light itself but especially with the uvBeast customer service team. (Seb helped me... A real guy, not an automated AI bot!) Update Written Oct 5th: I emailed the uvBeast company directly regarding the non-working flashlight I received. We went through all the troubleshooting and they determined it was appropriate to send me a replacement. They've already ordered my replacement and I should receive it tomorrow, Oct 5th, before 10p. I'll update this review again then. Original Review Written Oct 4th: I received my V3 365 nm MINI last night. I followed all the directions.1) I removed the battery contact insert. 2) Ensured that the battery was installed properly. 3) Used the supplied charging fob and cord to connect and charge. The charge indicator/light was ref then turned green indicatiing a full charge however the light would not turn on at all no matter how many times I push the the button. I send an email directly to the company to see how they will handle this. I will update my review when this is resolved.

I've had this for a while now, so definitely out of warranty, but it's worked sporadically ever since I've owned it. I don't use it professionally, just occasionally to assist in trying resin, but I've tried multiple batteries but apparently it's just always has some kind of issue internally and the switch has rarely worked. I've made due with it as I didn't get to try it until it was out of the return window, but to use it I basically have to plug in the USBC charger and put a slight amount of tension on the side of the cords plugin and the light works. Would love to see if more people had this issue or I just have a dud...

Professional graduate UV flashlight. It's worth the price.

Note - the photo submitted is not for its "beauty" but to illustrate a point. This light does put out true UV, and a goodly quantity. The picture submitted is of a pink rose bloom at a distance of 12 inches (measured). This was shot in a darkened room. I used a Pentax KF full spectrum (Kolarivision modified) using Pentax 100mm ED AW macro. ICE UV filter. ISO 12800, 1/200 at F3.5 and -0.7ev. The K3 is very bright, and the light was un-difused so the hotspots on the (very) reflective rose necessitated -0.7. I used an 18% grey card to white balance, producing a nice grey image. I did some grain reduction in Topaz Photo AI. OK all the tech stuff is over. What I like: the flash is rugged. It has a good heft a weight. I used a light stand and clamp to hold it. This is not a cheap plastic barrel, which I appreciate. My intended use is photography both indoors and outdoors. Indoors for some fun ultra close work; outdoors as "fill". The button on the barrel has a nice solid "click". It came with an extra extension tube - for a second battery? The output was reasonably even, but I may use a diffuser in the future to avoid harsh shadows. I had it on for about an hour adjusting light, etc. No problem with battery life. The unit did NOT get hot in use. That bodes well for longevity. Frankly, I would like this company to make some photo oriented light boxes - something square, maybe 4 to 6 inches on a side for macro work. They really have a great product and I appreciate quality. Oh, and it really is UV. My other cameras did not pick up a usable image. Only the full spectrum camera, and it definitely was UV.

La verdad es, que nada más tenerla en la mano se nota la calidad de la linterna. Alumbra bastante bien y lleva una pinza en el cuerpo que es fácilmente desmontable. Lleva también un landyard que también es desmontable sin problemas. La única pega que le pongo es que el cargador viene con la toma americana y yo estoy en Europa. Por lo que o compras un adaptador o pones una toma de aquí en el cable USB. Me ha parecido buena compra y estoy bastante contento con esta linterna.
