Best bush knife I've found yet
This one actually was a gift for my son, I have another BOB knife that I liked so well I got this for him. It is the best bush knife I've encountered, and I've got far too many iknives. It's hard to explain, but every time you do something with it, it becomes obvious that someone has thought about that and designed the knife accordingly. From fine whittling to choking down on the handle and using it essentially as a machete (with a lanyard, of course I may be crazy but I'm not crazy) it consistently performed well. Someone borrowing it when whittling a fire kit said "Wow, it's like a vegetable peeler going through this stick"There are only two possible downsides I've encountered, neither of which is worth marking it down at all to me. One, the knife is rather heavy for its size. I like this, but I can see my ultralight hiker friends having a major conniption about it. If ultralight is your style, this knife is not for you. The second is the gimping, it's substantial, but may be too much for some. I did notice after doing a lot of fine work it was rubbing on my thumb a bit. However I was in a bushcraft class and using my thumb on it far more than I would in the normal course of things. That said, overall, if I had to give up my far too many knives in favor of only one, this would be the one.

The best knife ever.
What can I say. This is the perfect survival knife and Bushknife. Everything has been taking into account on this knife. The Brothers of Bushcraft designed the perfect knife. It does everything from shaving small curls to start a fire, to some really heavy duty Batoning. The sheath is tight and comfortable and is MOLLE ready. Sharp and a real nice part s the Fero-Rod with whistle. A nice mini survival kit that snaps on your belt with ease. I would get this and spend the money for quality.

Ordered g10, not sure if g10 or micarta
I prefer g10 because it is more hygenic. Doesnt soak up sweat, dirt, blood, bacteria like micarta. Did some research to see how to tell the difference. Then realized these knives are serialized. Other reviews have debates. I will call tops tomorrow and will solve the debate. Fit and finish are great. You can tell it was done by hand. Yes it is more black than green as others have described. Who cares. Blue ticket of authenticity was not filled out. I guess ya fill that in yourself like a title. The serial# is etched into the coating, not the steel it seems. Was gonna just send it back to Amazon...but after handling, inspecting, I like it. Just wanna make sure the scales are actually g10. The blue tag gives instructions how to clean linen micarta, the upc says g10.

“Modified Scandi = Hollow Grind w/ hand bevel
I wish the stainless 154cm version was offered at the same price. The high carbon 1095 steel consistently accumulated rust within the first 3 days of use. I have had experience with high carbon steel in Mora knives and 5160 steel in the RTAK-II. They have not rusted in the years that I’ve had them. I was able to take a sharpening stone and remove the surface rust while leaving the blade scuffed, not that it matters as a work blade.I would also like to mention that THIS IS A HOLLOW GROUND KNIFE. Even calling it a “modified scandi” is such a stretch as they are more Sabre ground to perhaps a micro bevel if at all. When I was removing the surface rust the hollow grind made it difficult because of the concave shape.I took it right to the Edge Pro Apex and put a 20 degree bevel and it still feathersticks and cuts well. After putting a V-edge on the blade and Batoning through hard cherry wood, the blade had some rolls which needed some touching up, but was still sharp nonetheless.Another reason I wish this was the 154cm version is because the coating on the blade ruins any 90 degree angles to scrape sparks off with the ferro rod it comes with. It renders their advertised scraping notch completely useless.I do like the Kydex sheath and the belt attachment. It can be cumbersome at times when you try to attach it to different belts or pockets and fabrics. I love that the knife can carry horizontal and is not too large of a knife to to so.The weight of the knife is the classic argument of firepower versus mobility. If you wanna go on a 3000 mile through hike. You’re not going to take this knife. But if you’re going into the woods with few tools and weight isn’t an issue, join the hype.I contemplate returning this knife because it’s so prone to rusting, but the feel and looks of the knife have me teetering back and forth. Probably will keep it knowing I can buff out a little surface rust here and there.

Best knive I've owned.
Out of the box the quality of this knife is very easy to see. Its a 10 out of 10. I wouldn't change a thing. Its very sharp and comfortable in my hand. Its a tool, use it! don't buy this in put it in a draw and look at it from time to time. This is ment to be used and abused and it takes it. A must have if you spend any time out hunting, camping or hiking.

Okay, but wouldn't purchase it again nor recommend.
Not very sharp out of the box.It appears a slight rolled edge may have been repaired/ground out from the factory. A very noticeable flaw in the blade that was definitely worked on prior to any use. They did a fair job but still quite apparent. The handle is not green like pictured in the advertisement pic.My Gerber beats the brakes off it and costs way less $$$.The ferro rod striker is a complete waste and hardly works.I hope they improve and "get there" someday, but for now it's back to my Gerber or Mora.

Highly recommended.
Hands down, this is absolutely bomb proof. The knife itself is indestructible. The blade is about .25" thick and beefy. The scales are gorgeous and well made. The steel IS VERY prone to rusting, so keep it dry. I carry some petroleum soaked cotton balls on me as fire starters, but they also double as a way to keep my blade clean and coated. Before bed when I'm in the field, I wipe the blade off with them and call it a night. It holds an edge for an very reasonable amount of time and takes an edge without too much difficulty. I own over 100 knives and since purchase, this is my go-to 90% of the time. Highly recommended.
