Best mosquito eliminator you can buy
This is the best way to eliminate mosquitoes in your yard. This does not zap mosquitoes. It attracts mosquitoes and sucks them in to a vacuum that pulls them down into a basket. The mosquitoes then die over a few days, eliminating their ability to lay new eggs. Over a few weeks, you will completely end the larva cycle and egg laying-reproduction cycle of mosquitoes. This is how you eliminate mosquitoes in your yard. It's genius! No more paying for spraying services that last hours or days at best. Also, I don’t worry about harm to animals that potentially ingest mosquito sprays. You run these 24/7 from just after the last frost in the spring and run them up until first frost of the fall. They make no noise. The ultraviolet purple light is subtle and does not light up your yard and is not obnoxious to look at. You do have to empty the basket every few days or you can smell the dying bug carcasses as they begin to rot in the basket. But the way they are designed you merely have to unscrew the basket, empty them out, hose them off and reattach them. It only takes about two minutes. This is without a doubt the most effective anti-mosquito gadget I’ve ever had. These really work! Even my neighbors in the adjoining yard said that it has eradicated mosquitoes from their yard as well. An added bonus! They’re even a better deal when you get them on sale. I would not get anything smaller than the one acre size. I will say they don’t really cover as far as they claim. I own two 1 acre units and my yard is less than 1 acre. But two keep my yard mosquito free, and I live next to a pond one one side and next to a stream on the other side of my house. I do replace the bulbs every year as recommended since they run nonstop from spring until fall. I’ve also purchased some of the CO2 scented inserts as an additive but don’t find these are necessary. The Dynatraps alone do the job.

Surprisingly effective
It's bigger than you think - it's definitely a large trap. It's not a zapper, so if you get satisfaction (I do lol) out of hearing the bugs get zapped, then this isn't for you. It is a pretty effective trap, though admittedly, I haven't used it outdoors - yet. We had a bit of a fruit fly / gnat issue that we just couldn't seem to wrangle, despite trying tons of methods others have suggested. I set it up on the kitchen counter and set it to work. Surprisingly, it outpaced a glass of wine, which these bugs are particularly annoying about... we were having to place coasters on top of our glasses to keep them out. It wasn't until I took it outside and was able to see through the screen on the bottom, just how many it had captured. I will say that indoors, it's a little noisy - slightly noisier than the fan on my gaming computer. In its new home (the original intent), outside on the pergola, the noise isn't nearly as noticeable. I cannot comment on any smell emitting from it, as I couldn't detect any. I also cannot see how it produces carbon dioxide, as the body of the unit is plastic. I'm no scientist, nor chemist, so I can't speak to the titanium dioxide coating that the manufacturer claims. Bulbs appear easily accessible, though expensive, if you get their name brand bulbs. There are other, less expensive options out there for replacement bulbs. Best of luck in your bug killing adventures!

Optimistic
Takes a few weeks to break the life cycle of these insects. Have noticed a decrease in insects. Catching a lot of moths. Basket is filling with insects. A little concerned about emptying basket as there are still live insects in it.Well product worked well but emptying the basket was a challenge with all the live insects. I used a plastic garbage bag but accidentally dropped the basket damper in the bag and didn’t realise my mistake until it was too late to retrieve. I tried to find a damper replacement online with no luck. Called customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do. Don’t have any more options.

Disappointed
The media could not be loaded. The Dynatrap does catch insects, but it will not control a significant insect problem. It is no more effective than a typical bug zapper, which cost much less than this. I bought the 1 acre Dynatrap model for my 1/4 acre lot that backs up to a common-area retention pond. The want was to try to control the blind mosquitos that are a real problem in the summer here in Florida. I tried multiple locations in my yard and followed directions with leaving the Dynatrap on 24/7 and with giving it multiple weeks to work, with the aim of breaking the insect life cycle. In the beginning, it did help some with taking the biblical plague of blind mosquitos down to regular plague levels. But now, with owning the Dynatrap for less than two months, one of the bulbs in the dual bulb has burned out and it is even less effective than before. This thing might work for you if you have a mild or maybe a moderate insect problem. It will not work for anything more than this. I am really disappointed and would not buy this again. Here are the pros and cons:Pros:1. It is a live trap if you care about releasing some types of insects and disposing of others.2. The light (when working) does attract insects. As others have stated, I think the carbon dioxide emission claim from the light is bogus, but the light in and of itself does attract insects.3. The fan is strong and effective at sucking in the bugs that have been attracted to the light and does push them into the live catch basket below.Cons:1. This is expensive for what it is. It is a light, a fan, and a basket. It should probably be half the cost.2. The light lifespan is unacceptably short in my experience.3. The live catch basket is cheap and flimsy. The wire on the sides of the basket is easily deformed if you put your fingers in the wrong location when you are trying to empty the basket. The drainage slots on the bottom of the basket are too thin and do not drain well. If you get a layer of insects in the basket it will clog the drainage slots and fill up with an inch or so of rainwater creating a tepid, stinking mess. The pivoting trap doors at the top of the basket are supposed to close if the fan turns off stopping the airflow that holds the doors open. The idea is that if the fan is turned off, the trap doors shut and the live insects don't escape back up through the trap. These trap doors don't work well and get stuck open.4. I don't like the chore of having to empty the basket. In my case this is every 3-4 days. If you don't keep up with it, the insects begin to rot and stink attracting horse flies and other insects. A basket full of blind mosquitos smells like rotting fish, which is unpleasant in the back yard.5. You have to leave the Dynatrap on 24/7. The trap catches the most at night and very little during the day. To save energy, it would make sense to have this on a photocell plug so it automatically turns on at night and off during the day. If you did this though, the trapped insects would just escape out of the top of the trap when it turned off due to the problem with the trap doors getting stuck open.

Muy buena compra. Me sorprendió
Al inicio me precio grande y pensaba regresarlo. Lo conecté y en poco rato había atrapado muchos sancudos. Es increíble la disminución de losmolestos mosquitos en el área.

Not compatible with UK power supply
Be advised this will not work in the UK as it is not compatible with UK power supply. The manufacturers website does not make this clear.

Useless without power adapter that is NOT included
This is made for the USA only. Unless you separately purchase an outdoor, weatherproof power adapter, this is totally useless.Ordering this wasted weeks of time during a sensitive part of the mosquito season.Considering how extremely expensive this is, you'd expect to be sent a complete, working product.Massively disappointed.
