Great in mud!
I wear these every day dog walking. Grip is excellent in wet muddy conditions. Very comfortable, slightly wide fitting. Really good and practical, great value, highly recommended imo.

Great value.
These shoes run a little small compared with other makes so you may need 1/2 of a whole size larger than you think. Get the size right and they are comfortable, reasonably rugged walking shoes with great grip on muddy tracks and trails. From past experience, they wear well for an inexpensive shoe and until they are well worn, reasonably waterproof for the first 2-300 miles, but now they let water in through the fabric areas on the sides. I don't think there is much breathability though. A 10 mile hike on a hot day leaves my feet very hot, but I generally use Asics trail running shoes in hot weather if the track isn't too rough. Buy for £35 (or less) and you have a bargain.Update: After nearly 500 miles a small hole has appeared on one of the tread blocks on the heal. They are still fine for dry tracks, but water is drawn into the tread in wet conditions. I'd still say "good value" at under £35.

Perfect for light use.
I’ll start this by stating I’m no where near being a walker… I’m 40, 2 kids and married! You get the picture right, balding, chunky but still needs to get out in to the countryside, parks and the seaside in the winter! I’ve been eyeing up some proper walking boots, but when they seemed to be north of £80 it seems excessive for my seaside walks, walking to the park and the occasional countryside walk, but then I spotted these walking trainers! Priced for a normal shoe, but with good soles, water proofed and look decent I figured id give them a try! Admittedly I do feel bad I got them from Amazon instead of the local retailer id originally seen them in! But they fantastic! Comfy and waterproof (though only to your ankle! They shoes not boots!) so if you are like me, or a dog walker in the country side I think these would be perfect!

Great boots for the price
First purchase of hiking boots for some time and I really like these. Typically any new shoe or boot takes me an age to wear in due to blisters but I've now done over 20 miles in this and aside from a couple of initial upper ankle rubs they're good. Overall pretty comfy and feel quite solid and relatively well made especially for the price. Walked through wet grass and puddles to dry feet. I'm not sure how long the soles will take before I wear them through, but I've found even with expensive boots this happens and unless you get them from a bootmaker they're not worth or even possible to get repaired. They feel really grippy and I've walked up and down a few muddy inclines and over rocks with no issues thus far. So thoroughly recommended.Incidentally I first tried on a couple of pairs via prime wardrobe but those were a bit small (tried on 9 and a half). And I ended up with size 10. I'm between sizes depending on shoe style and the 10s are right for me with walking socks on. Not sure why but this pair from this seller seemed to have neater stitching/glue around seams than the prime wardrobe pairs I tried, even those they are the same style. Anyway another plus for this pair :-)

The second pair of Holcombe's I have owned - wide fitting, comfortable fit, and they look great!
This is the second pair of Holcombe's I have owned. They are not covered in logos or snazzy stripes or shapes and they don't have a white sole that ruins the look of the shoe as soon as a bit of dirt gets on it.- Instead, they are wide fitting, with a comfortable fit, and they look great!

Not waterproof.
Nice and comfortable, but not waterproof. Grand for road walking in dry weather but once you walk through short wet grass, you will get wet feet.

Comfortable walking shoes
I bought a half size bigger than I normally take because the fit is quite tight. Thus said they are very comfortable for walking. I'm not sure about durability because I've only used them forthree months the heel is already starting to wear through in places. Hence four stars instead of five.
