Battery Problems
The original batteries installed by the manufacturer is almost guaranteed to be shot and leaked on the leads and electronics, even if they've never been used. If you buy these units and want them to work properly you'll need to buy a new battery, remove the old one, clean the leak off the leads and electronics, and hope that there hasn't been severe degradation by the leak.

Good for Electronics Projects
I bought 5 of this for my electronic projects and these work great. Just 1 of 5 had dead batteries.I have one connected to my caller id box and when anyone calls me I can see his/her phone number and name on other cybikos located in different places in my house and receive, by mean of my TINI module connected to cybiko and internet, a SMS in my cellular phone.I have another one connected to a network of temperature sensors located around my house and the temperatures can be seen on any cybiko. Finally I have one connected to my TINI module and all this information can be seen from the internet.Great purchase for electronics hobbiests.

Batteries stink, no backlight....yuck!
We bought four, thats right FOUR (4) of these things, and not one of them would work off of the charger. When you do look at them (no more than a couple feet from a wall outlet) the screens are hard to read (not backlit) and it is hard to type on the tiny little buttons (even my 10 year old ended up "fat fingering") Maybe the newer version is better, but these were dissappointing to my kids, and that is not cool!

Boring!
Personally, I got sick of my Cybiko pretty darn fast. Sure, it sounds cool, with the whole chat and emailing thing, but the reality of it is that if you really wanted to email, go onto the internet yourself, because you already have to plug the Cybiko into the computer anyways. The chat sounds cool, but there is never anyone on. And I mean NEVER. If this toy caught on more, it probably could be fun because there would be more people to chat with. I know what you're thinking: there's still the games, right? Well, the games look cool, but the only one I found that really is remotely interesting is the speed biking one, and in that game all you do is "bike" down a track. Oh, every once in a while be careful, it turns! Seriously everyone, this toy is a complete waste of money. If you want my advice, you'd be better off just buying... well... something else!

Good idea, but VERY poor quality
This used to cost over [$$$] each, but now can be had for such a good price on amazon, so I bought two. Upon unwrapping my initial excitement evaporated very quickly when I found out how poor-quality this product is. One of the two does not charge at all -- the start-up screen warns "no batteries". The other seems to charge but doesn't hold the charge for long. The upshot: you'll need to keep this plugged in AT ALL TIME to use it. I was simply dismayed by such a display of very poor quality control. The Cybiko is "designed and made in Taiwan."The user experience started low but even got lower. The user interface is ugly, and guess what, the company Cybiko no longer exists in the U.S. (they still have an operation in the UK) so there's no support and no game downloads. Maybe that's why it's being sold at bargain basement price. Chat works out of the box, but the other applications require downloads, and I still haven't figured out how to do that since there's no software included, and just a very simple instructions sheet that doesn't tell you much. (Not even a word on charging.)In summary, I do NOT recommend you buy this. Yes it's cheap, but the quality is absolutely terrible. The battery doesn't work, the screen is low-quality, and the entire design is very disappointing.

Ok
I personally love the cybiko but I encountered a technical diffuculty (the screen froze and then the battery would no longer charge) and because the company shut down I could not ask for technical support. So it was fun while it lasted , but if you can't find a repair place for cybikos I really advise you take EXCELLENT care of it.

The Cybikos That Never Worked
I purchased two Cybikos. They turned on, we plugged them in to charge, and that was it; they were unable to use. The message on both was low battery. I've called the 800 number three times, each time leaving a message. I have never heard back!! I went to a couple of stores to see if the battery was replacable, not one store carried the particular battery. If this problem could be resolved, maybe I'd be able to rate the product again. In the meantime, don't waste your time or money!!
