Green Feathers Wildlife Trail Camera Strong Lockable Metal Security Box Outdoor Protection

To use with their own cameras, this box is FAIRLY well made (but no better than "fairly well made") from an engineering point of view. HOWEVER, from a design point of view, the manufacturer has missed the boat on a couple of matters. Firstly, with very few design alts, the box could be used with quite a lot of "trail cameras" currently on sale - not just the Green Feathers cameras. Secondly, the threaded nut welded to the back of the box is a 6mm standard thread. This is fine for fixing to some sort of bracket, but just think how much more useful it would have been if the nut was a 1/4" x 20 (UNC) thread which is the size for fitting the extremely common "tripod screw". Then you would have had all the normal photographic tripod functionality ( ball head for example) that could be used for positioning, aiming, camouflaging etc. To be able to do this as the box currently is, you need to spend another £20-30 on adapter plates etc and do some engineering yourself. How much easier if they had welded the correct (5p) nut on the box !!! Hey ho .......... GLA from a somewhat disappointed buyer of this box.

The box is advertised at 110 mm wide 170mm high , it’s only 100mm wide and 150 mm high so no way the camera is fitting .
