My 10 year old daughter absolutely loves this 3D pen! We got it for her for Christmas and have already had to buy her multiple packs of filament refills because she uses it so often. She appreciates the guides that come with the pen to help create specific things. She has also created her own little knick knacks. Her pen stopped working properly after not using it for a few weeks. She charged it up when she was ready to use it again and it would work for less than a minute before dying. I saw another review mention how great customer service was with their problem, so I reached out and they offered to send us a new pen in exchange for the one that was having problems. 10/10 recommend

This is the coolest toy! I bought this for my 5 year old and she spent hours playing with it. It is very user friendly and simple to set up. I love that it heats up but doesnt get hot at all to the touch. The plastic flows out super smoothly and hardens quickly, it doesn't make much of a mess at all. The colors come out the same as the sticks you use, there are no weird smells. I had a ton of fun with it as well as an adult. The sticks do go quick so I would recommend buying extra sticks when you purchase the doodler. There are plenty of options of all price ranges on Amazon for more sticks. Highly recommend this for ages 5 and up!

This was my first time ever touching a 3D pen, so I went into it with zero expectations and a whole lot of curiosity. And honestly? It surprised me. I know, I know it was for kids...but, hey we all have to start someone and don't have the funds to be shelling out for the big kid toys. The pen itself is lightweight, easy to hold once you figure out your grip, and simple enough that a kid could use it — which works for me because I wanted something beginner-friendly before committing to the big, grown-up 3D printers. And one more little tad bit info...the pen tip stays warm, so you still want to keep it away from small kids while it’s running. It’s safe, just not something you leave sitting around unattended. It does take a minute to get your hand steady and learn when to cut the flow so you’re not left with extra strings. My first little flower looks like it’s fighting for its life, but that’s a “me” issue, not a pen issue. The pen feeds the filament smoothly, heats up fast, and is perfect for practicing techniques or sketching out small prototype ideas before moving to anything serious. The only thing I’ll say is: don’t expect professional-level lines right out the box. This is a true starter tool — but for the price and for learning the basics? It does exactly what it needs to do. Solid pen, no regrets.

Bought for my daughter but I am having a hard time sharing it with her. This is such a cool tool. The more I use it the more I see what can be done with it. When my daughter can pry it away from me, she makes the most creative things too. Opens your creative mind in new ways. You can use with silicon molds too… just found this out. Wish the battery lasted longer because we could use this all day long. Be prepared to buy more filament because you will want more colors to make more items. Make sure you buy the correct melting temp for your pen. You can use the pen directly into your skin and no burn. Completely safe for children with no risk of injury. Own turns off if left on. Note: it does not come off of clothing. Great if you want to decorate clothes but not if you don’t want to. Overall it’s awesome!!!

I have purchased about 20 of these and have used them for many, super-popular kids' programs at a public library. I purchased 12 of the original style, and more recently I purchased 8 of the newer version. Pros: safe, easy to demo/ quick to understand how to use, fun for a wide variety of ages, possible to make some cool shapes (kids like using the shapes in the manual to make the glasses, rocket, finger puppets, etc), the filament is easy to clean up and not expensive. Cons: battery life. Our program lasts 1.5 hrs and most of the devices are running out of power before the end of the program. I've had 2 of mine just stop working. I wish there was a way to recycle/repair/replace the battery. It takes practice to be able to make a steady line and interesting items. Due to the battery life, I'm not sure that I'll continue buying these and offering this program in the future. If they could work while plugged in or if the batteries lasted longer, I'd give these a much higher score and better review.

My son is 8 years old. He loved this pen, however it stopped working about a week or two after it was purchased. It somehow became jammed and we couldn't fix it. I found out through another amazon review that their customer service was great and I'm so glad I saw that! I contacted them easily by phone, spoke with Charlie, who was so kind, and he proceeded to email me, walking through the process of trying to fix the pen. Once they realized the pen was not fixable, they sent us a replacement within a couple days! So excited for my son to be able to use this pen again!

The best 3D pen for kids! It is so easy to use, not hot to touch and it comes with a mat to make 3D art on as well as a guide for ideas and templates to create cool projects. I should’ve ordered extra plastic inserts as my daughter has used up almost all of those that came with the starter kit already (it’s only been a few days!). I definitely recommend for all of the creatives out there.

Love this thing. Works perfectly and the kids love it and use it often. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The heat is so low that you can touch the tip without pain but hot enough to get the plastic to that perfect viscosity. This pen has a great grip and makes it easy to 3D draw with kid hands and adult hands alike.
