I wouldn't use these books for starting as a complete beginner. I suggest learning using apps/ internet resources before diving into these if you are self studying. These books are good just from an exam point of view. The best part is how they give a code you can use to download audio/video exercises if using CDs is too much of a hassle.

If you’re someone who wants to learn German or teach German in your private institute or you’re learning it privately these are one of the good books you can have for the purpose, it comes with audio DVDs but I don’t have a DVD player so I can’t use them, but they’re good, to help you understand the accent and I am giving 4 stars for the delivery services or else I would have given 5 stars cause I’ve seen many orders without any protection they’re just placed directly in a huge package and they’re spoiled even with me personally many times this has happened, I genuinely wish if Amazon delivered our orders properly.

Informative, easy to study

Great book for A1 level. It includes 4 cds which has many audios and videos which makes this book quite interactive and also help in pronunciation.
