HJC CS-5 Open-Face Motorcycle Helmet

Over the years I've owned several HJC helmets. My HJC 1/2 helmet was getting old so I decided to get a 3/4 helmet for more coverage and safety. The way it covers my ears makes this a quiet helmet. I guess because it does not have space for communicator speakers, there is more noise canceling liner. My LS2 full face is way louder, especially on the highway. My only issue with the CS-6 is the visor is easy to unsnap when I pick it up. I have to check if all 3 snaps are secure before riding or put up with rattling visor. True to size. I usually wear a large and this one fits me well in Large. No hot spots and I can wear it all day with no problems.

I wear a size large and had ordered two helmets of another brand prior to this one. Neither one fit comfortably so I had to return them. I have another HJC helmet, size large, that I've replaced due to its age. Different helmet brands fit differently so, if possible, being able to try one on before you buy is a good idea. This one fits me just fine.

The color is a close match to my mat blue bike.

Comfortable riding

I had to return it. The straps came down right across my jaw and the pressure caused me a lot of pain. I wanted to like it and it was of good quality, it just hurt my jaw to wear it.

Ordered both a large and Extra Large for me and my girlfriend and we both like the fit and comfort plus its pretty quiet and lots of room by the ears to wear head phones for your ipod. Quality and fit and finish appears good and the inside liner was well made and appears that it will hold up. The air vents cool my head well while moving and with the hot summer we have had it has been a welcome benefit. Have half helmets but the wind noice on my ears caused me to buy this 3/4 style and so far very happy and price was good too!

In my home state, a motorcycle helmet is an option. However, I choose to wear one when I ride. I was looking for a moderately priced helmet when I came across this one. I had tried one on at a local retailer (wanted around $30 more there) and was impressed with the fit, enough so that when I found it on Amazon for a much lower price I bought it. Thankfully I don't know how it works absorbing impact!
