This one's at home in the technical surroundings of Joshua Tree or Indian Creek, and back in civilization in the bleachers of a late-fall football game. The Winter Ferris combines the legendary lightweight toughness of breathable Ferris stretch soft shell fabric with a layer of synthetic Thermite insulation inside, adding up to an insulated jacket that can take some abuse-with a matte finish that flies under the radar.

Warm and lightweight. Expensive but high quality jacket.
I really like this jacket, its warm, light weight, and I really poke the way it looks. Pockets and zippers are high quality. I have worn this in mild weather with comfort and for its size and weight it does great in very cold weather. It cuts through wind quite well. It seems to be holding up quite well and seems like it will continue to do well as stitching seems well done and uniform. The color seems to be well represented in the sample photos, the inside is a nice subdued orange that doesnt stand out which I like.

Nice coat, except for front chest pockets.
Coat is super soft and warm. Only problem are the front chest pockets which require BOTH hands to manage the zipper. The fabric will stretch and the zipper will fold over rather than open if trying to open one-handed. Kind of a bummer. I really dunno why this are on the outside in first place... these should be on the inside in my opinion.I opted instead for the Patagonia Nano-Air Jacket which is very similar.

Runs Small
Look the look and quality materials of this jacket, but the fit runs very small. Definitely order up one size.
