Q: Can this be used externally?

Don't see why not, they're made from plastic so no corrosion issues. They are fairly robust especially when affixed to the surface. I used silicon sealant but mine are on an uneven surface on the inside. They do look smart the Finish is fine.

Q: What is the overall size of the cover?

Hi Justin. The overall size is 270cm by 170cm. Very easy to fit and look great. Hope that helps.

No the vent slats run across the short edge, so the short edge is the top and the long edge is the side

I need a 10 by 7 inch grill I can get a 10 by 8 but I would have to fit it sideways does that matter which way the slats go
