Great Addition to My Kitchen
I purchased mine Dec 11, 2023 and have been using it almost daily since. Like any electric appliance it takes a bit of practice and getting used to but well worth the effort. That the base is lightweight is a bonus because it makes lifting and moving the griddle for cleaning easier as mine sits on top of my cast iron griddle over two gas burners. I’ve noticed gripes about cleaning around the edges of the burner but it’s is easy enough to use a brush (toothbrush or straw brush works nicely) to reach into the side crack. Personally I find it easier to be careful not to spill over the edges when using or cleaning it.About that. I use Dawn spray on dish cleaner for this after allowing the burner to cool and always unplug after use. One half of a paper towel or napkin wipes up oils for tossing into trash, a spray and small amount of water finishes it up beautifully and easily. I wipe it down with water on a sponge or towel, let it dry and put a 13” silicone hot pad on top, and a round appliance cover over this and I’m done. Now I can set things down on it without scratches or damage and dust won’t get on the surface. Be careful to NEVER use metal utensils with this surface as it is the weakest link and is thinly coated. I have a couple of scratches to prove I know what I am talking about and wish they would use a ceramic or more durable nonstick coating like my favorite Circulon pans use. What I use the griddle for most is to cook hash browns or sausage patties while making breakfast omelette or eggs in a Circulon pan on the other burner. It keeps the other foods warm while waiting for the other part of the meal to finish. It’s nice to have a way to serve everything together warm and perfectly prepared each morning so this product lived up to it’s name and the price paid. It is my Morning Star.I almost forgot, yes... you can make excellent crepes too. If I must one day replace it I certainly will since it's useful for many things and I don't care for a lot of electric appliances. I have one Bear electric hot pot for soup noodles and normally cook with a gas burner again after years on an all electric stove/oven but still use a convection oven. I thought I'd only heat tortillas, naan, or make crepes with it!

Heats quickly
It is satisfactory and makes crepes relatively well except that it does not heat evenly all the way to the edge. But nice I gotThe temperature correct , it turned out very nice crepes. Have not used it for anything else yet

Makes delicious crepes
I was skeptical that a gadget like this could make great crepes, but I took a chance. So glad I did. The booklet it came with has a recipe. I used that and this machine and it was 95% of the taste of crepes I'd get in a restaurant. And this was only after using it the first time. You definitely need to let it heat up so it's hot enough. But once you do, you can crack out the crepes.

Very good crepe maker!
This crepe maker really works well. Easy to use, easy to clean, and plenty hot for crepes. Very pleased with this unit so far. The utensils that come with it are good, so you won’t have to buy addition utensils.

Unhappy
It was packed very well for shipping !The unit itself is very cheaply made, I thought for the price it would be more sturdy. After using it, I think it is way over priced.I was using a large skillet before I ordered the crape maker. I will be going back to the skillet. Better crapes, less fuss, less clean up and much easier to do than the crape maker. BTW, I even covered the crape maker with butter and the crapes still stuck, torn and burned. Had I know, I would never have purchased it.....don't buy one!

Not the best in this price range
I just retired my morning star crepe maker after 2 1/2 years of weekly use. The one thing I liked about it was its size (13-inch). I would highly recommend staying away from the 12-inch crepe makers, even if you end up using only part of the surface of your 13-inch crepe maker. No need to spread batter all the way to the edge. Now the cons: the non-stick coating isn't great. I always applied a bit of sunflower oil or bacon grease with a paper towel between each galette (savory buckwheat crepe) I make, and yet I often had problems with the dough sticking. The stickiness of the griddle got worse with time, which is why I recently had to buy a new crepe maker. I noticed that the non-stick coating changed color in some of the spots where the dough would stick, which suggests uneven heating. The other issue with this crepe maker is that it's very hard to clean if you accidentally spill batter off the edge of the plate. There is a gap between the plate and the base where batter will get stuck. To make things worse, there are little plastic tabs a regular intervals that makes cleaning that gap even more difficult. After a while the base of my morning star crepe maker ended up looking quite gross despite my best cleaning efforts. It didn't affect the heating plate itself, but still.I also noticed that the price of the morning star crepe maker almost doubled since I bought it. I wouldn't pay more than $35-$40 for this type of crepe maker.

Could only use a few more tips.
Fabulous. I used to make crepes in a pan, so I'm getting adjusted to spreading them properly on the griddle. The learning curve is pretty good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they could make recommendations on the optimal heat setting for crepes, as well as the most appropriate amount of batter. They manual that comes with includes some tips, however, they are intuitive in nature and not the ones I was hoping to see in the tips section. There were 3 recipes for crepe batter that are all nice. I prefer savory, but it doesn't matter all that much. The recipe I used in the past, of course, works fine on it too. It heats up quickly, which is great in hectic mornings. Clean up is easy, even the batter that I swept right over the side in my trial run!
