Contemporary II Berry Wool Hearth Rug, Rectangular

My wife did a great deal of research before deciding to purchase this rug. We are extremely happy with the purchase. It is solid and looks like it will hold up for many years to come.

Looks good and no issues so far but it is still new. Very thick. Cats new favorite place to lay.

It’s grear

I've saved this in my Amazon wish list for over a year now after doing much research on a hearth rug. This Black Friday deal was the cheapest I've ever seen. I wanted a wool rug because we have a wood stove and this lays on my tile and my living room rug. If an occasion hot spark comes out, my LR rug will be protected by this thick wool rug. I have vacuumed and not found fibers but time will tell. Center color is more of a light plum. Rug is bound very well all around with no lose strings hanging. Quality is excellent. Rug was rolled and packaged in a plastic bag and a sturdy box. Shipping was smooth and seemless. So far I am pleased with my purchase.

Recently my husband opened the door of the wood burning stove too fast and a flaming log fell onto this rug. It immediately fell apart. My husband has to scoop up the pieces with the ash shovel. As you can see in the photo, the rug scorched in a couple of places but did not catch fire. The floor underneath was not damaged. This rug saved costly repairs and perhaps our house from fire. I highly recommend this rug.

A few weeks after I bought this rug, I loaded our wood burning insert up with logs, left the house, and ran errands for a few hours. When I got home, I could hear smoke alarms blaring from the driveway. I immediately ran inside, and the entire house was filled with smoke. Our pets were freaking out. I ran to the living room and saw the three big logs I had put into the fire had rolled out and were lying on this rug. One was glowing with red embers and shooting up small flames. With fire gloves, I was able to get the logs back into the fireplace and air out the house (with the aid of our attic fan). Six hours later, the house was mostly back to normal, with the only relic being a slight tinge of smoke smelled upon entering the house. I have no doubt our entire house would have been up in flames had it not been for this rug. It did exactly what it is supposed to do and I am very grateful!! In a world where products are often cheap, knockoff, “made in China” and expectations are low for performance, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It saved our house and our pets’ lives. Thank you!

Unfortunately, because the rug is made from natural wool fibers, my wife’s cats think it is a fabulous scratching rug. In less than a half hour they had attacked the rug and were well on their way to destroying it, which saddened me because I thought the rug so nice looking.We flipped the rug upside down, which foiled the kitty scratchers, but it doesn’t look nearly as nice upside down . Still protects the hearth, which was the original purpose, but I wish I could get rid of the cats so I could enjoy my rug.Moral of the story: Don’t have cats if you like wool rugs. Or don’t have wool rugs if you like catz.

We redid our floors with LVP and needed a hearth rug. This one was perfect. It was more than I wanted to spend but after a huge investment on my floors, it was definitely an expense we couldn’t skimp out on either. Our pup loves it too. She spends lots of time in front of the fireplace now.
