Standard Motor Products AC419 Idle Air Control Valve

Seems to help with rough idling, and I have included replacement details.
I bought this for my 2010 PT Cruiser. It had some air bubbles at the top of the glue which I was initially worried about, but this doesn't seem to be an issue.A few install notes:- Remove the electric clip on the old IACV by pulling the tab back on the electric clip and then pinching the clip near the back while pulling the clip off the IACV. If you get confused, practice on the clip for the mass air flow to learn how to detach these clips (the mass air flow one is in an easier position to practice on).- There is one bolt that holds in the IACV to the throttle body. It requires a Torx to unscrew (and rescrew) the bolt. The amount of room you have is very limited in this location, so you will need to find a way to get the bolt out with a torx tool that is pretty small.- Once the bolt is out, twist the old IACV and push outward to release it from the throttle body.- Install the new IACV and rescrew the original bolt. Reattach the electric clip. You normally hear a "click" sound on OEM parts, but I have found that the "Standard" manufactured replacements typically do not make a "click" sound when reattaching. It still seems to have a tight connection though.- It is pretty easy replacement, unless you drop the bolt into the body of the car and have to drive and get a magnetic tool in order to get it out (like I did...d'oh).I seem to have a smoother idle now, but it isn't perfect. I suspect I may have another issue as well, but this did seem to help.

Perfect Fit 2005 PT Cruiser
Installed this on my daughter's 2005 PT Cruiser due to some idle problems. It is a tight fit, but does fit the 2005 PT Cruiser (non-turbo). Just one small torx screw to remove and pull it out. I was replacing plugs so I had the air intake on top of the engine partially removed and that helped get access to the one screw holding this thing on to the throttle body near the firewall. You may be able to replace this without disturbing the air intake, but going to be tight fit getting a torx bit on the screw to remove, maybe use just the bit and a small wrench. Anyway, it works great and fixed the idle problem.

Fits my 2004 PT Cruiser
My car had been idling funny for too long, especially when the a/c was on. It always felt like it was going to stall when stopped. I took a chance and bought this and there doesn’t seem to be any more idling problems. When I turn the a/c on full blast it idles smooth. Only time will tell at this point but so far it’s been great! I would definitely recommend if your having idling issues, though it may not always be the solution.

DIY and save.
Fit right saved 100.00 doing it my self, avoided paying six people at the dealership for the same thing, the service writer, the car jockey, the mechanic, the parts guy, the bill collector and the tax department. It actually was quite easy and solved the problem
