The product itself is really nice. It’s creamy, easy to blend and as it dries it’s very smudge resistant and doesn’t really budge which I love.I have yet to sharpen it which I’m dreading based on the reviews however the dual sharpener from La Femme I’ve had for years doesn’t seem to have an issue sharpening these types of plastic-y pencils when you use the larger end.The colors look darker online. I would have liked to see swatches on actual people but NYX doesn’t have these swatched. I thought “Sugar Glass” and “Nude suede shoes” would be around the same depth. I wanted a lipliner close to my actual lip color to get that sort of lip filler type of look.I thought I’d love NSS but it’s lighter than SG and pulls a sort of baby pink on me so that was a bit disappointing. The NSS packaging color looks darker which made me think it would be a more medium nude-pink but it’s pretty light. SG is pretty good but a tad light/too peachy nude so I’ll try some of the other nudes. I’m about C35 in Mac, yellow-green undertone.

I was very VERY disappointed that Rimmel's 1000 Kisses lip liners were d/c and found this as a replacement (Dark Soul) for the Rimmel Coffee Bean shade. Let me just say that the NYX meets and exceeds expectations. Even though it's creamier and easier to apply it is richly pigmented and lasts beautifully under my dark and berry colored lipsticks.Don't hesitate: THIS IS what you're looking for in a lip liner. Same goes for this product in "Espresso".

It looked like a twist-up but it’s a pencil. So, yeah, use a sharpenerI don’t love the color. I will try something darker and brighter next time

Staple for makeup

I love this pencil! I actually use it to fill in my eyebrows, rather than as a lip liner, since it matches my hair color.I’m not sure why there’s so many reviews saying that you can’t sharpen it - you absolutely can! My picture is the pencil I received today, next to the little nub that’s left of my last one.My only complaint about this pencil is that it is VERY soft. It’s hard to keep much of a point on it, and trying to sharpen it back to a point feels like wasting product because of how soft it is. It does help it go on smooth, so that’s a plus for lip lining. But if you like to have a fine point on your pencils for application, this may not be the one for you.

I love this liner because it glides on smoothly and sharpens easily. It stays on for hours with my long wear lipstick on top and is my everyday go-to.

Next to nothing in the pencil

Love this liner, it’s so creamy and pigmented, I usually just use a tiny bit on my lips and rub it in and then add a gloss because it’s that pigmented. Such a pretty colour I love

Everyone is right, it doesn't twist up but unlike some other reviewers, my lip pencil sharpened smoothly. Do I wish it twisted up? Yes, for I don't like to waste product by shaving it away. The color is what I expected as well but my only dislike is that it's really quite dry. Its my 1st lip liner I have ever bought so maybe it's supposed to be like that to keep it from bleeding? Just don't like the feel of it.

I will say the same as other people have said, the casing is defective. I managed to remove the bottom part and push the contents up by inserting a q-tip and pushing it up. Then there was some lip liner on the other end again to use. I did not try to sharpen the tip at all. It is too bad because the liner is very nice and smooth.

I really loved the shade and the finish, but the twisty at the bottom do not work. and once the tip is gone it is done.My money was wasted on this product because of this reason. Afterwards i checked online to see if i am doing anything wrong and realized it is a usual thing for the product to be defective. so many bad reviews because the dispenser is broken. honestly i loved the shade. i just wish i did not get a broken pencil

TERRIBLE product. you can't sharpen it at all, even though this is what NYX says to do for this product. this photo is after sharpening it for the first time, after the product broke off TWICE. now, the edges are very jagged, there is too much product sticking out and the shape cannot be sharpened into a point. unfortunately i love this colour but it's not worth this much trouble.
