Trijicon CA128Y Novak HD Night Sight Set, Low Mount Dovetail Cut, Yellow Front Lamp

Went from blacked out rear Novak's with the brass dot front sight that came stock on my 1911 to these and couldn't be happier. After shooting about 500+ rounds with these on to carrying with them owb/iwb I'm comfortable in saying these are solid and will last a long time. The photoluminescent painted front sight is excellent and picks up light much better than the brass dot could. The tritium lamps work fantastic and are visible in moderately lit indoor settings and really pop out in low to no light. I would definitely would recommend you get these installed by a gunsmith if you don't have experience installing sights on your own and have the proper tools. If your 1911 slide has the novak sight cuts you are good to go with some minor fitting of course.

These sights are amazing.They really pop out at you. Quick sight acquisition. The sights themselves I would give a solid 5/5. However I do have some problems with Trijicon. The sights did not come with a set screw as I am sure many of you already know they do not. I couldn't use the set screw from my old Novak sights either. So that is the first problem. The second is that these sights are clearly labeled by Trijicon as "1911 Novak Cut". I have a Colt 1911 O1980XSE in case you were wondering, and yes they came from the factory with standard Novak style sights. The rear sight on the Trijicon's sat snug, even without the set screw. I put one in later for good measure. However, the front sight was not the right size. The sight was too small for the Novak cut notch in my gun. I had to take the sights to a professional gunsmith and have them installed which cost me an extra 50 bucks. I emailed Trijicon and asked them what the deal was and they told me that, "they didn't make any products for my gun". I was very disappointed because the sights clearly state they are for a Novak cut 1911. I was very disappointed and frustrated with Trijicon. So if you plan on buying these, best make sure they fit your gun correctly.

When I first received these I found that they are too small for a SIG Sauer 1911, even though other reviewers said that they did fit Novak cut dovetails. A trip to my nearby gunsmith set this right, he used an industrial super glue on the front sight and I used a lot of thread locker on the rear set screw after I had the sights adjusted. It was worth the effort since my old, bifocal-needing eyes have no trouble picking up the front sight now. I don't have nearly as many flyers in my shot groups now because I can once again focus on the front sight without squinting or trying to hold my head back to use the lower part of my glasses. It was a great investment and I do recommend the sights. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because of the hassle getting them to fit at first.

Bought this due to the fact its supposed to fit a Kimber 1911 but it doesn't.

I ordered these for one of my 1911 and ended up ordering a second set for my Dan Wesson 1911. My eyes are not as good as they used to be with these sights I can see them better and pick up my target much faster. For 1911's they do require some filing and a sight pusher or brass punch and hammer to install and fit properly.

Excellent sights!!! Target acquisition is a lot faster than with standard sights. Might take some minor fitting to install front, but it's well worth it. They don't come with set screw for the rear, but quick call to Trijicon to find out the proper size (5-40x1/8, slightly longer will work too) then trip to local hardware store and I was set. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
