About Heart Rate Training Turns out, your heartbeat is a pretty big deal. It's actually one of the most important indicators of overall wellness, and is one of the most effective elements of any fitness program. Your heart rate not only controls your body but also the efficiency of your exercise. To get the most out of your physical activity--whether it's walking, dancing or aerobics--you need to make sure you are in your target heart rate zone. To determine your target heart rate, first subtract your age from 220. That's your maximum heart rate. Your target heart rate is roughly 50 to 75 percent of this maximum heart rate. To see how your fitness level is progressing over time, measure and track your resting heart rate--usually between 60 and 100 beats per minute--on a weekly basis. As you become more fit, your resting heart rate will decrease. Your target heart rate generally encompasses three zones. Exercising in the Active Zone (50 to 60 percent of maximum heart rate) reduces blood pressure and cholesterol and is ideal for fitness beginners or those on a low-intensity program. Almost all calories burned in this zone are fat calories. Reaching the Training Zone (60 to 70 percent of maximum heart rate) requires more intense aerobic activity and is perfect for fitness enthusiasts working to burn maximum calories and fat. Finally, exercising in the Endurance Zone (70 to 80 percent of maximum heart rate) is generally recommended for athlete in training. The primary benefits of this zone are cardiovascular strengthening and elevated caloric burn.

Love It!!
I purchased this product on recommendation from a lady at the gym and find myself addicted to wearing it all the time - I love watching how many calories I burn doing various activities around the house and at the gym! Before I purchased this watch I had lost about 75 lbs and then hit a huge plateau for a few months - now that I have this and can watch the calories in and calories out I've started to lose weight again. Not sure who enjoys the watch more, me or my trainer I do have to say we have a blast trying to see how many calories I can burn on our workout days!Watch was EASY to set up; it's comfortable to wear and doesn't look too bad with most daily things (unless you are all dressed up). I did find that wearing the heart monitor strap gives you better results when it comes to your heart rate and calories burned - if you tuck it under your sports bra line it's like it's not even there!Really recommend this to anyone looking to have something to help them lose weight and work out!!

It is what it is..
We bought this for my mother a few years back as she was wishing to lose weight and wanted to keep an eye on her heart rate at the same time. I have a Polar, which I love, but didn't want to expense that if this was not something she would actually use. Ergo, we went with this Sportline model because it did have the chest strap and transmitter.Watch is fairly easy to set up, easy to use and if used as HRM with transmitter, keeps very similar rate to Polar. My big issues is with the logistics of the transmitter. It's not particularly easy to take on and off with the plastic tabs on either side of the strap. There are lot's of complaints on the battery ( needing professional change ) but as I expected...we got this HRM back from my mother ( regifted ) abouta year later. My youngest daughter was using it for her bike and jogging workouts. Then, when my Polar needed a new battery, I used it for a a while. All in all, the battery has lasted pretty well...longer than my Polar. As with any "touch screen" HRM..it is what it is. Sweat,humidity,rain..pretty much renders it useless...but if used with the chest transmitter...it works like a charm.

Good Heart Rate Monitor
I purchased this heart rate monitor mainly for the calorie tracking and thus far the performance has been good. I still have to figure out how to really take advantage of the heart rate portion of the watch. Wish there was more information provided on that as I'm not sure what all of the numbers mean. Will have to do research in order to understand the watch. Also another frustration I have is that when I'm working out and timing my workouts depending on the exercise I'm doing, I will accidentally stop the watch because the buttons are right by my wrist. Still trying to figure out how to wear the watch so it doesn't stop while I'm working out (it's fine if I'm doing cardio). All in all, pretty happy with my purchase. Once I figure out how everything really works and can take advantage of all of the features, I'm sure I'll be much happier with my purchase.

Works great!
This is a great little HRM! Use it just as a watch with instant heart rate with the touch of your finger, or continuous monitoring with the chest strap. So far has been compatible with all of the machines at my gym. It is a huge difference over using calorie calculating estimates over most fitness apps, so has really prevented me sabotaging my weight loss efforts! Love the features, even though it will take some practice to figure out where all the information is kept! The strap is pretty comfortable, and very adjustable, and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when I'm just wearing it out and about. I have worn the chest strap over clothes, under clothes, and I have never had a problem with it not reading my heart rate. Overall, a really great deal for a HRM.

Great watch!
This watch is great. I love the strap on the watch because I have very small wrists and consistently have problems finding watches that will fit me. It is easy to use once you figure it out. The book for the watch definitely leaves something to be desired as things are not explained clearly and easily. Luckily a friend of mine had a similiar watch and was able to help me figure everything out. I also don't like the "snaps" on the chest belt, as it took me time to figure out how to use also. It can be difficult to use and put on yourself because of them. The only thing that I wish it had was a distance monitor, but I can use my pedometer for that.

We love it!
I had the basic Omron HRM but decided to send them back and get this one instead. It was the calorie counting that drew me to it. I have only had it for a couple days but just love it. It works great. If you use the chest strap it will keep track of all kinds of things during your workout: time in, above and below target zone; min, max and average HR; calories burned and fat burned. It also has a cool visual that shows you where you are in relation to your target zone while you are working out. If you don't use the chest strap you can still get your HR but touching the watch face. This works very well.

Great little watch/heart rate monitor
It took me a little while to understand the settings, but once I understood how to program it - it works great!I originally reviewed this product shortly after I purchased it, but felt like I needed to add that it is hard to see the imprints on the bezel which designate what the buttons are for. If you don't use them regularly (and commit to memory) it is hard to see. I ended up taking a very fine point permanent marker and filling them in to make it easier to see.

Really good heart rate monitor.
I only have one complaint: if you are a big girl the band is going to be a little tight. Not a lot of room for us big boned girls. Otherwise, it really is a good monitor especially after you thoroughly read the manual. A suggestion for those who are a bit challenged by gadgets: sit down and read the manual with the HRM in your hand. It's much easier to figure out when you do them both at the same time.

Waste of money
Waste of money. Very poor instructions. I had to go on line to get more setting details. With a little more thought put into the design I think it could be made user friendly. I packed it away in a box a couple of weeks after purchasing it and will probably never take it out again.

It is a good watch
It is 4 months i have this watch, no problem. Belt works fine, good thing of having both ways to have your HR. Customer service is good, thought waited long time for rep. The manual is not good explaining the features. had to call CS for connecting the belt.would recommend!

My new Sportline Women's Duo 1025 Heart Rate Monitor is not giving me my pulse reading.
In following the instruction booklet I was able to set the date, time, etc and at first I also had a reading of my pulse. I really don't know what happened but now it will not give me my pulse. It is quite possible that I am doing or have done something wrong. I wish I knew who to take it to so I might be able to get my pulse reading again.
