A RARE ACCOUNT OF A REMARKABLE ERA
This book opens a door to a seldom studied subject and to a cast of characters virtually unexamined and unknown in a personal way. For example one learns of Bonnard and his close relationship to key members of the Nabi Group and his difficulties as an artist. One is taken into the studio and marketing life (never discussed in other books) of Denis and learns of his consummate skill in selling his work. Of Denis and his noteworthy ability to conceive an idea and to carry it out from small to large scale. One will see period photos of installations in process and final state all taken at the turn of the century. The tone and depth of analysis on all levels is noteworthy and anyone interested in this lesser-known subject must read this book. I recommend it highly! William Havlicek PhD.

An excellent academic review
This book is an excellent academic review - albeit, with a Russian emphasis - of this seemingly little known corner of Post-Impressionism. I myself prefer that the color plates would have been larger, thereby allowing more detailed study of the referenced works.

doesn't do justice to the richness of the nabis achievement.
not much material. not much reproductions. doesn't do justice to the richness of the nabis achievement. this ugly book cover is a good indication of the book content.
